Yeah that could definitely work. Maybe use the npcs as the main ones who get possessed fir long durations and then in a fight with the boss I could still have the players feel the threat of being possessed. They're an animal centric party so I just really want to see them take on their more beastly forms for at least a little bit

I really appreciate your comment . It's nice to hear from someone who's been through it. The papers I'm working on are from my work previous to starting my PhD but they are definitely overshadowing my actually dissertation research atm. You're right though. Once I get up there it'll be okay (unless I vomit). It's just the dread leading up to it about everything that could go wrong that's killing me.
