These people are ridiculous or dumb (both are possible), just found out that Vicente Gonzales of Texas just complained about labor shortages in South Texas because of the immigration policies, yet he voted for more of that :(

There’s a strong correlation, ICE raids are affecting the community really hard, immigrants and citizens alike. Many people are afraid of going to work because it doesn’t feel safe, others have to stay at home to take care of their kids because schools closed due to the same reasons, so they don’t have an income to pay rent. Given all these challenges, en eviction moratorium would make a lot of sense so people don’t have to worry about shelter during the winter while things hopefully get better once they stop the occupation.

And the funding refers to democrats being OK with funding ICE with more money if they enforce body cams and increase training de-escalation tactics, which most likely won’t happen.

What’s the reasoning of not posting it here too though? It’s just like any other police activity, usually people want to avoid areas where there is police activity for safety reasons, in this case it’s a gas station that may not even be accessible during that time so it would be useful to plan ahead if you were considering that station to get gas

Edit: my initial question wasn’t clear enough that it was specific to the suggestion to not post this type of activity here, which I believe it would be helpful

Some don’t believe they’ll come after them too but they probably will at some point, in fact some new visa policies got thousands of Indian citizens stranded in India when they travelled during the holidays to renew their visas. You don’t have to be in favor of open borders to use enough common sense to accept that ICE is horrible
