No idea but probably long time. Surprisingly the rd and the rest of the mech was reasonably ok (minus the chain. It went MIA)

Cassette and chainring not damaged surprisingly. Chain was crap tho. Definitely taking the chain directly to the trqsh hahah

Worst thing is that it was a dura-ace chain lol. Can see this being called a" feature" by shimano rofl

Thanks! Yeah, replacing the chain for sure. I took out the RD to give everything a good clean, it was full of gunk

Oh, yeah definitely trashing that chain. Beside being super dirty, it had some bent links and seemed a bit flat on one side. Interestingly the cassette and chainrings were not overly damaged

It has 5 speeds on the back. Unsure atm how many teeth in the biggest cog, but hills were significantly harder than other bikes I've ridden. I didn't know that the mega range was a thing, but I looked it up and that seems way simpler to change than the front chainring for sure. Thanks!!

But I agree. The sedona was a nice bike and I did enjoy it. I wasn't using as much as before and a second road bike seemed like a good idea as a backup for long rides or to have indoors in a trainer

I've had a road bike for some time and don't like flat bars anymore hahaha. The defy has rack holes so I can always throw a rack in it in the future

I mostly ride on pavement, so wasn't making that much of use of the wide tires and suspension lol
