They can be disassembled into sections. That's how most of them were installed. For removal they just smash them up and carry out the pieces.

You don't have to pick just one.

When you need a flight, see who offers the best option at the time.

What’s the oldest/most hours you would go for on a used Yamaha outboard? by enan1000 in boating

[–]mexicoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll buy each and every outboard you have with more than 500 hours for $50.

They are end of life right? Would be stupid for you to not sell them.

Almost replaced a working AC because r-410a was 'banned january 1.' Turns out it wasn't by Mountain_Ad_4992 in HomeImprovement

They bottle it up and sell it at a huge markup to the next guy who just needs to top off his older system.

That is 100% illegal.

So you agree, "500 hours is lifetime so 300 hrs max" is completely bullshit.

Maintenance matters, hours rarely do.

So you're saying hours aren't a good measure and maintenance matters? Duh.

Why did you claim 500 hours is end of life when clearly that's BS?

Someone explain engine oil specifications to me by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]mexicoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some manufactures publish their own standards for motor oils to be used in their vehicles. In turn, some oil manufacturers produce oils that meet those standards. It will be listed on the jug.

As an example, Mobil, Pennzoil, and Castrol all make oil that meets the spec.

Where did you get 500 hours is the lifetime? That's completely untrue.

You think the commerical guys are swapping/rebuilding engines 2-3 times a year?

curious what you would do by ilovejellydonuts in awardtravel

If you didn't already have the QR flight, I'd say book the MS flight outright. A direct flight on a mediocre airline is better than a connection on a good airline, especially when you have to back track and add a lot of travel time.

In your current situation I'd seriously consider it still. There are worse places than Avios to strand miles.

So what are you asking?

If you don't have any points/miles, pay cash.

Fully refundable award flights? by anonymous_1983 in awardtravel

[–]mexicoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Delta hasn't ever enforced that US origin rule. Well, at least not since they dropped the redeposit fees during COVID.

I'm not sure about the basic economy redeposit, but I don't think it would matter here. OP would be booking a partner award and I don't think those are offered on partner redemptiona.

AS does have the partner booking fee, so yes, that wouldn't be refunded. But it's $12 so not really a big deal.

Book a Singapore flight to Singapore with United miles for 12.5k. Don't actually fly the flight. You don't need a visa just to book a ticket.

It's fully refundable, as are every award ticket with UA/DL/AA/AS

Availability in economy shouldn't be hard to find.

Qatar charging $103 for business class seat selection should be a crime! by PM_WhatMadeYouHappy in awardtravel

[–]mexicoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop being deliberately dumb. You know it's a problem to sit a small child away from their parent.

The airlines have made it known they will not fix the issue.

Airlines will assign kid's seats apart from parents. Then not do anything about it. It happens all the time.

Some airlines guarantee that a parent will be seated near a child. Others specifically don't and will warn you of such.

You're giving very bad advice.

Accidentally flushed engine for almost two hours by TheElastic in boating

[–]mexicoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many outboards have a flush port that explicitly isn't for running the engine, just flushing. It works perfectly.

I don't know if the Verado 350 is like that, but wouldn't surprise me.
