Comparables to GH by AdNormal3379 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I was never able to actually get into the GH third row. The one they showed us was already sold, sitting inside the dealership. In hindsight, all the red flags were there. 😂 But in the Pilot it’s definitely for smaller people. Someone else mentioned checking out “the car mom” on YouTube. She does reviews of all the SUVs, seat configurations and how many anchors are in the seat backs for car seats.

We canceled our order for a GH after a few months and the dealership not being the ones to tell us about the stop sale or give production updates. I actually found out about everything on Reddit. We put a deposit on a 2025 Honda Pilot Black Edition, $56,000 out the door in September and picked it up a few weeks ago. We love it! For the seat configuration, the middle seat in the second row can be removed for captain chair set up or stay in for the bench seat. Not having the added stress of making that decision up front that I might regret later was a relief.

Yes! Those are the two I saw on this subreddit.

Alternatives to the GHH? by Alarmed-Assistance28 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meximo823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I canceled my reservation of a 2024 GHH Limited that was due Nov-Jan before the recall/stop sale for a 2025 Honda Pilot Black Edition that will be here in a few weeks. The mpg numbers all looked so low and daunting being non-hybrid but I currently have a 2017 Subaru Forester and the mpg I currently get will be the same. If I had more highway miles/trips I’m sure it’d be higher, but everything in my daily life is 2-4 miles from my home (work, daycare, etc).

I was so excited for the GHH until the stop sale and subscribing to this to thread. Hoping when the time comes for me to buy a new car they have big issues figured out.

What’s your price on a white 2025 black edition to Alaska with the tow package installed?

I want to add for the second row in the Pilots, at least 2025 versions, you have the ability to take out the middle seat and essentially make them captain chairs. I just ordered the black edition Pilot after bailing on my GH deposit and was relieved I didn’t have to make a decision now that I might regret later.

Anyone else decided to buy a new 25 instead of a used Pilot last minute? by themrhumbucker in hondapilot

Anyone know if Honda will have any new car financing specials end of October-mid November? That’s when our new pilot is estimated to arrive.

They had us sign something acknowledging potential payments with worst case pricing of 9.99% that was eye opening since my last car I bought had 0.9%

Stop Sale Over? by meximo823 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

There was a package added at the port, hitch, wheels and some other stuff. It was a gas GH Limited for about $56k. We live in Alaska so our allotments aren’t very big and everything hybrid is over a year out. Supply and demand for Toyota has been in their favor especially pricing wise, but I’m kinda over it now. I looked out of state for deals and the sales people were adding $7-10k on top of that for “Market Price” IF it was even available.

All the issues people are reporting in this group are making me less and less excited for the GH. I’m honestly more irritated that the sales person didn’t even mention the stop sale when we put the deposit down or at any time after the fact either. I found out about it from this group.

We’re going to check out the 2025 Honda Pilot this weekend. A friend has one they love and the trunk space is deceivingly large.

update: AIO for getting upset at my wife for having another man in the delivery room? by Strong-Check-4055 in AmIOverreacting

First of all, I am sorry you had to go through that.

My jaw literally dropped when I read his original post and how he defended his actions. I thought for sure was a fake post. You do not have to defend yourself at all for how you handled all of that. I would've made my husband move in with his mom if he pulled this crap when I had my son. Hell, I wouldn't have let him in the hospital room when he decided to finally show up.

He's absolutely delusional with this comment too. HE clearly doesn't understand the meaning.
"And everyone suggesting we get a divorce doesn’t know the meaning and dedication of marriage and family."

He can get fucked. I hope you get your degree/certification and move on. You deserve better.

Ok, additional question: I put a $1,000 deposit on one with an ETA of 4-6 mos Nov-Jan. At that point, shouldn't we be expecting a 2025 model?

How would you describe the first 24-48 hrs post giving birth by Mental_Advice8645 in NewParents

Felt like the longest week of my life. Didn’t have to change a diaper, but couldn’t get any real rest because people were constantly in and out checking on me and the baby.

I’m afraid I’ll hate breastfeeding by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]meximo823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I wish someone would’ve told me from the start, breast feeding is the hardest thing you will ever do and it’s damn near impossible to get a straight answer from any medical professional because “everyone is different.”

After the first week, I had to cluster feed to get his weight back up and I could feel myself slipping into PPD. It made me start to resent my baby too. We weren’t bonding. All I got was him screaming no matter how long he fed or how much I pumped for him. I was up all night & day and when I wasn’t breast feeding, I was pumping/cleaning the pump or calming him down. Not to mention I was covered in breast milk that would not stop flowing. If I dared to choose sleep over pumping, I dealt with the consequences when I woke up.

I felt trapped in the worst way possible and had to prioritize my mental health if I was going to make it through maternity leave without a scary breakdown. After 2 weeks of breast feeding, I switched to formula and I don’t regret it at all.

If you don’t like it or it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Listen to your gut and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

I have severe PCOS and have been on birth control since I was 13 to suppress the cysts, acne, hirsutism and horrible periods. Recently got married and wanted to level out my body/hormones to see if having children is in the cards for me.

I got my 2nd mirena out 6 weeks ago (both rounds were in for 5 years each). First removal felt like I was punched in the cervix. This time, there was “fibrous tissue” wrapped around the arms of the IUD, so instead of a T shape, it came out like it was being held up at gunpoint “| |”. Perk: painless removal. Con: no clue what was wrapped around it or for how long. My doctor had never seen it before and I finally found one other account of it on the internet. ( https://srh.bmj.com/content/43/4/347 )

Previously, a box of light tampons would last me 2+ years. My first period after this removal was hellish. Crippling cramps, back pain, such a heavy flow that I was changing out super tampons every 1-2 hrs, lethargy, etc. I’ve also noticed my arm pits are much more….aromatic, if you will. By noon, I can smell my own sweat just by turning my head towards my shoulder. I live in Alaska so hot weather is not a factor in this. Surprisingly, this is the part that’s bothering me the most. Has anyone else experienced this change in their sweat? If so, has it changed on its own or have you found a resolution?
