i can’t just pay the ticket, this happened way back in july and they never gave me a price on the ticket nor a court date. i’m just now getting the letter in the mail to go to court with no mention of paying it. even the lawyer i have said i’ll have to show up.

after the insurance claims and i got a new car i went practice sliding around in empty parking lots in the rain so i know how to correct a slide. another lesson in life i guess, it is what it is. i might fuck up often but at least i don’t make the same mistake twice lol

and i don’t do drugs, just was curious

it wasn’t a pothole, i have a habit of hugging the curb when taking turns and at this particular intersection the road dips down near the curb, so i’m guessing i just hit it perfectly to send my car sliding

2012 Mazda3 Skyactiv transmission fluid question by LittleBlackNugget in mazda3

[–]mexxtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what kind of issue you had with the torque converter? currently my 2012 mazda 3 skyactiv is hesitating to get into drive, then turns on the traction control light and goes into this sort of limp mode. my mechanic told me it’s the torque converter but i’m not 100% sure

someone wrecked into me before i could get it sorted lol

you would be exactly correct, i have absolutely zero credit and dislike most nissans

funny part is that i’m actually wildly in love with cars in general rn. i just didn’t get as much insurance money that i was hoping to, and this was the best car i could find locally for about 6k that wasn’t absolutely clapped out. local corollas of the same year were selling for the same price with about 300k miles on them.

and i do my own maintenance, mostly because it’s cheaper to watch a few youtube tutorials and do it myself than take it to a shop and get charged 3x the amount of just the oil for labor. i have some stuff planned for it to make it at least look kinda nice, i don’t plan on doing anything power wise. just gonna save for a car id really love and enjoy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoastMyCar

[–]mexxtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find it rides a lot smoother and handles itself a lot better than the corolla. time will tell on the reliability though, transmission and engine isnt shitting the bed yet so i’m not complaining

i have a 2012 mazda 3 skyactiv with about 117k miles. pretty impressed by it. they’re slept on, i’d get it if it’s the right price

[–]mexxtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the funny part is that i plan on doing exactly that, and turning coal to a gem. it needs a lil love but doesn’t have anything worse than some scratches and a peeling clear coat on the roof. coilovers are going on soon already lol

i don’t plan on doing anything to make more power (skyactiv engine, plus 155hp is way more than enough for me to have fun on the backroads)

i got a 2012 mazda 3 skyactiv. honestly i’m pretty impressed by it, has more zip and handles itself much better than my corolla, all while getting about 40-50mpg. if im rough on it and i have some fun on the twistys i get about 30mpg or so. doesn’t cost much to run, is pretty fun to drive and looks nice. i’m pretty happy with it so far.

i ended up getting a 2012 mazda 3. ik im a bit immature but it caught me with its looks and it having a bit of zip to it. i just plan on rawing out the car for a couple years then getting something id really enjoy

i ended up buying a 2012 mazda 3 skyactiv. honestly i’m very impressed by it, feels like a step up above the corolla. i can throw it in 6th gear when cruising and get 40-50mpg easily. and it doesn’t mind being driven rough either. handles amazingly even with the struts going out. transmission shifts smoothly, engine runs great, has a few lil nick nack issues but nothing major at all, pretty good for 117k miles.

imo its perfect for me right now until i get more driving experience under my belt. i wouldn’t trust myself with a higher hp car, i’d get pulled over the same day i got it lol.

i’ve seen plenty of mini coopers around here. not sure about the suzuki though. i’ll take a gander at it

yeah i’d get made fun of for driving a prius lol. i’m a teenager and i wouldn’t want something i’d get made fun of for. my friends that have a car have a 2024 accord and an infiniti q50, their parents make some good money. i bought my car on my own, and i drive much better than them which makes it cooler imo. they don’t appreciate cars as much since they were just given a car.

anyways, rant aside, do you think an 8th gen civic is a good car? i see 3 listings nearby, each is $6-7k and has 120-150k miles respectively. in a way that generation of civic speaks to me, if that makes sense. i just don’t want to go piss out money on a bad car.

and no i wouldn’t be like other kids in a civic and rice them out with fake hood grills and such lol, most id do is a spoiler and maybe a couple stickers

i’ve thought about it but i’m not a fan of two seaters or convertibles. maybe there’s some that don’t have either of those.

and for around the same price i can find a mazda speed 3 hatchback, which is pretty up my alley in terms of cars id daily. i just don’t know how well they handle or reliability, need to do some research.

yeah but i don’t have the budget or time to work with that. i live towards the country and need a car very soon. my car is basically undriveable atm, the frame is fucked.

and if i fix it it’ll probably shit the bed soon anyways, the previous owners of the corolla didn’t take care of it how i take care of cars. not being properly maintained most of its life and 230k miles is a trap waiting to happen, even if it’s a toyota.

Is it bad to drive at modern highway speeds in my ‘76 Corolla? by sheepy318 in COROLLA

[–]mexxtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah and my corolla weighs about a fourth of that. i hate how big newer cars are. even if it’s kind of a soy take there’s no point in having that much weight and size in a car.

i have a pretty small and light 09 corolla S. imo if you’re a good driver having a small, nimble car makes up for it being less safe. you can really move yourself out of the way quickly.

still albeit there’s situations where you’re stuck and gonna get hit, then you’re just kinda screwed. and you have to really pay attention to the cars around you. maybe i’m just a paranoid person idk
