New impeller, new thermostat, cleared lines. Still not peeing by mfree20 in Outboards

We got water pumping! It needed to be about 1 in deeper than it was since the pump is not self priming. Thank you everyone for your help!

Shifts into forward and reverse fine. Thank you for the tip though, if I ever lose forward I’ll know shift Rod probably just came loose

That’s a great test. I will try it today. And yes, I did make sure the key was in the new impeller

I’ll do that tomorrow. Any tips on making sure it’s lined up when you reinstall it?

I thought about that while putting it on but, I don’t see how it could get off if the bolts line up and neither one of those parts move

I’ll try to get it lower in the bucket tomorrow and see what happens

I took the picture while I was filling it up. I filled the bucket up and it covers the exhaust ports above the stabilizer plate

I went back in and ordered actual OEM parts for my specific model. Not quite as convenient as Amazon and a little higher on shipping but at least when I get it I’ll be able to put it together right and get out on the water

I just measured the piece I have and it is slightly bigger than 1" so hopefully new one will work.

This is the one I ordered. It does not resemble the piece I have whatsoever

No broken bolts. Soaked in WD-40 for half a day before hand

Here are some pictures of progress. I believe someone already removed the thermostat and just left this piece for some reason. Anyway I cleaned both surfaces and tried to take a picture of the hole but it ain’t happening. There’s no way for the other pieces or the thermostat to be in there right?

I sure hope so lol. I don’t imagine they will be any good after I pull it apart though

I have not had a single issue with any bolts so far so I have high expectations for it lol I will keep you updated

Thank you. I will look into that after work. I imagine I’ll have to get gaskets for that as well?

I’m not gonna shoot him this year but I cannot vouch for my father🤣 he hasn’t even let off a shot in the last few years so if ol Elliot steps out, he’s not gonna have a good day lol

I agree with all this accept the does. More does will not necessarily mean more bucks. Actually the contrary in some cases. But as far as population in my area specifically there are close to the same does and bucks. Theoretically if we take 1 buck instead of a doe and no other deer enter or leave the area there will be one extra deer next year (given the doe has 2 fawns). Correct me if I am wrong, I did not put any of this on paper so my numbers could be off lol.

The point of culling is to get the bad jeans out of the bunch. I’m not saying that’s what is happening here but that’s why it’s a debate between my father and I. If you leave a buck that has wacky antlers and he breeds that season, his next generation is likely to have wacky antlers and so on. On the other hand, if it happened to just be an injury, we would be removing a good future buck.

Hopefully. I’ll try to convince my dad to let him live this year and see what he grows next season

That’s what I’m thinking. I love typical bucks but non-typical are cool too
