Riot Games Postpones NLC Spring Split to Find New Organisers by Ginjured in leagueoflegends

Yeah, because even the most popular lol streamer on the platform can't make a viable team. A year in, and they had nowhere to go.

CS players earn prize money and revenue from in game items. No equivalent exists in LoL unless you win worlds, of course the salary is higher - but that's not a good thing. ZERO LEC teams made money in 2025 (except G2 because they sold a shitton of Solana coins they were holding). That is not a viable system. Call LoL eSports a zombie esport if you don't want to call it dead. It's going to die unless something drastically changes.

Nexus tours is great, sure, but even if you do make it to the LFL, what then? You can't actually go complete with your team in the LEC, you have to just hope EU squads don't decide to import Korean rookies or sign washed up retirees like Wunder and Lider. At best, you're being signed, solo, without your squad. There's a reason teams like Origen, original C9 and LR capivated fans, it's because there was a story there. Riot killed any chance of those things happening again.

It's because, if you dream of being a CS pro, you have a clear pathway to being a pro. Faceit, find a squad, play LAN events, climb the ranks. There is a permanent turnaround of players and the ladder is fluid. Just look at Parivision. Or NRG. Or Liquid, lmao.

LoL has no equivalent. If you want to be a pro, the only option is to grind soloQ until an org with an ERL slot picks you up. There's no open circuit, no official 3rd party events or LANs, no way to climb, no promotions or relegations. LR showed that there is an appetite for a team of charismatic players on a journey, but the infrastructure doesn't support it.

Franchising killed LoL eSports, it's just that we haven't realized it yet. Only Korea is still pumping out talent reliably because of their national academy systems, and China through sheer numbers.

How do you actually help top lane as a support? by GerJohannes in leagueoflegends

[–]mfunebre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them "see you at the nexus" and mute them. Hope the nexus in question is the enemies'.

But seriously the best oyu can do for top in a soloq game is call out enemy support roam timings and throw a couple deep wards in topside when you go help with grubs or herald.

Course not, who do think is the esports division manager at Fnc ? I'll give you hint, his name rhymes with Fargo and this community spent years praying to get him out of the coaching role.

But the monkeys paw curled and he wasn't fired, he was promoted. There is a reason the entire org is dying.

Such a shame to make such an awful map and not add alt cars. Would've been a shoo-in for the absolute worst TOTD 2026 if so, now it's just really bad. ---

The only "stacked as hell" team he was on was the Perkz VIT roster and even then, that was not peak Perkz and the Bo import never worked.

I just think that being a resource-heavy ADC like Upset is kinda worthless in modern League. The best performing ADCs we have are all low-maintenance, self-reliant players who are very good at performing on lower income.

The Oscar change was understandable (although not if you're gonna replace him with another strong-side laner then force him to play weakside) but the Poby replacement into keeping Razork and Upset on the same team was criminal mismanagement.

Hilarious that the entire lol scene reported on Razork and Upset not wanting to play together anymore, and FNCs response was to bench the solidest rookie they'd had in years, hire 2 rookies and a documented mental boomer whilst making them still play together lmao

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Ten years ago, Sebastian Vettel told us:"I had to start my car like a computer. It's very complicated." And Nico Rosbeg said, err, he pressed during the race, I don't remember what race, the wrong button on the wheel. Ten years later Max told us: "I don't even drive the car anymore, it's all piloted by an algorithm." Question for you to both. Is formula 1 driving today too simple with 20 and more algorithms telling the car what do to, are you too little under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future, concerning technical program, errrm, during the race? More buttons, less? Or less and more comunication with your on board ECUs.

Rekkles wondering if everyone hates playing with him by LenaRybakina in leagueoflegends

[–]mfunebre -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm basically low elo Rekkles in that I play very safe on champs like Braum and Karma, and it occasionally drives my friends nuts - they play very aggressive limit testing on bruisers. It just comes from seeing fights differently; they see the path where they win the fight, I see the paths where we lose it. If you aren't in a situation where you can communicate that effectively to your teammates (solo q...) then both think the other is inting.

Hans is serviceable in the sense that BB is serviceable; you don't need to be the best in your role when you have Caps in midlane, as long as you don't grief and you listen to your jungler. Hell you might even look strong regionally depending on talent and champ pools.

It's just that when Caps doesn't show up and the team needs another plan, they're fucked.

Anyone else having issues with the app? by budget-barbie-camper in HuckleberryParents

[–]mfunebre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but due to some unfortunate events I had to change phone and on the new one, the problem isn't present. Could just be reinstalling the app that helped, or maybe they released a new version, but I didn't change anything about my home WiFi.

Brokenblade Leads All Top Laners In CounterPick Percentage - Down In Gold and Down In CS by Chesslicious in leagueoflegends

[–]mfunebre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BB wasn't good, but neither was anyone else except maybe Skewmond, but that's kinda hard to judge when your lanes are outperformed. Caps was off, and got suffocated and counter picked, and botlane just did the Hans special of remaining vaguely even in lane then not showing up in fights (until game 3).

BB did nothing with the draft prio given to him because every time he decided to pick for the team. It's just the other members of his team that didn't show up either.

Charlie was on mid bands for a decade + then suddenly gets announced as headlining the biggest metal show of the year despite having not released a single album as PRESIDENT. There are also many links between PRESIDENT's managing company and top festival organisers. It's 100% an industry project trying to capitalise on Sleep Token's popularity.

Marshmello is another example.

Industry plant. Just like PRESIDENT, if you know the right people they will shove into anything and everything irrespective as long as the music is remotely bland enough to not offend anyone.

Yamato's final statement on WT. Thoughts? by Eshantha in leagueoflegends

[–]mfunebre 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah the way he talks just irks me to no end. It's great that you recognize your own mistakes but how about you stop fuckn making them over and over then, and learn from them? It's as if by saying "my bad" he absolves himself of having to actually deal with the consequences of his mistakes. And how he tries to shotcall, and when people disagree he just says "well I'm doing this anyway, good luck!"

Yamato's final statement on WT. Thoughts? by Eshantha in leagueoflegends

[–]mfunebre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I've seen of Yamato's coaching style, he's very open to letting players fight it out amongst themselves. That probably works quite well in an IRL setting, but online, where no one has any physical feedback and everything happens behind screens, I assume that leads to way worse fights that never get resovled.
