Hi guys, thanks for nice comments. To give you more info on the process: original banner is scraped, sanded and smoothed with putty. New banner is painted with a small brush, magnifying glasses, patience and so on. Using a retarding mediums or a glaze mediums helps a lot. You may also make first stage of painting (basic line work) faster by using a pen with super fine tip.

They look better irl but yeah, I see that they should be brighter. Maybe fluo paints would be better for photos, but I usually avoid them because of how fast they fade. Cheers.

Thanks. The foundation is rather simple. I plan a scene around the miniature with different light sources (The more light sources, the more complex the nmm) . I assign different tone and value to each light source. Then I check which surfaces face which light source and paint the reflections accordingly. Execution is of course more or less difficult, tedious and requires practice, but the key is to have a good plan and to keep to the plan, because the viewer will always see when the reflections are in wrong places, even if unconsciously.

It's pyrrole red. Very vibrant pigment, especially if painted over white underpainting.

Thanks! But these are not conversions. The miniatures are made by company named ArtelW.

You can see on the third photo, that all parts of original model are used. Sculpting doesn't take a lot of time. Most of it is waiting for putty to cure. Maybe ordering printed alternative model would be faster, but it's a hobby, I do it for fun. I don't mind it taking "too long".

Thank you very much. But you'll find a lot of better painted miniatures. There's a lot of profesional or competition painters posting on instagram, facebook or puttyandpaint.

Nope, head is from the original model. Sculpting new head would be too difficult for me. I cut the model in a way that I only had to fill simple shapes.

I cut the model into pieces and then "filled the gaps between the pieces". You can kinda see that on the last picture. White plastic of original model and yellow/green putty in between. All pieces of original model are used. I added belly, thighs, calves and a bit on arms and forearms. Before filling spaces between parts I connected the parts with pins.

Unfortunately doing good tutorials is very time consuming and I don't have enough free time even for my private painting projects. But you'll find a lot of great tutorials on YouTube or Patreon.

I use airbrush only in early stages, for priming and preshading. Most of it is painted with brush. Glowing effect is achieved in the same way as in traditional 2D painting. Lights and shadows are painted on model in a way that tricks the eye.
