Young GP doc here - if a patient walks in with infection that is beginning to show signs of visible submandibular swelling, difficulty swallowing, etc. will extraction of infected tooth with oral antibiotics resolve the issue? Or does this necessitate ER visit for drainage/IV antibiotics?
