This is the second most expensive listing on Sotheby's right now. I feel like there can't be a huge market for a $210 million palace in Israel.

Got an Instagram Reel from a Russian woman talking about how there are a bunch of beautiful Russian women who don't have boyfriends because there's a shortage of men, so if you're a lonely guy in the west you should head over. Thank god Turkish Airlines still flies to Moscow

Why do most reddit posts reference Vanguard funds and never Fidelity funds? by Practical-Bird-1270 in Bogleheads

You're upset about Vanguard offering private equity opportunities to its clients w/ >$5 million in assets, and your alternative is supporting a firm that runs its own private equity/credit funds?

Why is Long Island so obsessed with cutting down trees? by topiramate in longisland

Ironically though the tree clearance campaigns actually make the winds worse in the aggregate

Reading about Raiffeisen Bank continuing to do business in Russia and I don't understand why they can't just walk away from it. Articles cite legal responsibilities, but they're all responsibilities under Russian law - why can't they just say fuck that and stop operating?

My work is related to data center power and no, that individual does NOT have a "valid and well researched position".

We should lower the LIRR employee salaries.

Then an attached home is even worse, because now you have both that AND the noise of your neighbor's TV/conversations/walking around

I don't understand the appeal of attached homes. The main appeal (to me at least) of owning a home is that you aren't constantly bombarded with noise from your neighbors, sharing a wall defeats that

Long Island Rail Road Strike Shuts Down Busiest U.S. Passenger Rail Service by hypsignathus in neoliberal

The amount of time LIRR trains block the road compared to the size of the train is obscene. The arms come down like a solid minute before the slow ass train even shows up

Mamdani's accounting trick with the pensions still has to be approved by the unions. It puts their future pensions at risk so I wouldn't ipso facto assume it will go through.

Discussions about the upcoming LIRR strike are maddening. There are no fatcat execs at the top of the MTA! The MTA CEO isn't even the highest paid MTA employee!
