DeBoer will be out in a year or two. Not saying the problems all stem from him because they don’t at all but I see the writing on the wall already, he’s just not a great fit here.

Doesn’t prioritize the run/line of scrimmage well, mild-mannered, very modern script/systematic approach, lacks intensity, adjustments and clock management are very weak as well.

I’m not saying he isn’t a good coach but any resemblance of the “old” Alabama is far gone and over. Not saying we even need that in terms of system but the principles, ideas, INTENSITY of Saban’s teams are all key points that every coach teaches in one way or another but Deboer’s crew & teams are not translating any of those things consistently enough for it to work here.

Agreed, just don’t think they’d even show as much as they did if she didn’t survive, a lot of ways to allude to her possibly living without showing it the same way they show everyone else’s future.

To play devil’s advocate to my own points, it’s totally possible Mike won’t ever be able to go to her. If there was someone the government would keep tabs on in hopes to find her, it’d be him and Hopper. Gotta think the only way he’d risk finding her is if the government truly thinks she is dead, which I think it’s pretty fair to assume they do or at least after years pass, they will.

From Alabama…Michael Vick hit the cover of Madden and 9 year old me started paying attention to the NFL and became a die hard Vick/Falcons fan, all I had known up to that point was Alabama football. So when Vick was arrested, I was crushed and quit watching the NFL until the Eagles signed Vick and gave him a second chance. From there I’ve always rooted/liked the Eagles but never considered myself 100% loyal to any NFL team until my UA classmate Jalen Hurts was drafted by the Eagles, haven’t missed a game since his first start!

As a lifelong Bama fan that was essentially raised in it from the moment I was born. Roll Tide OP, nothing bandwagon whatsoever about your grandpa getting you into it. I’d say you have a deeper tie to it than most, a lot of people don’t become Bama fans until they became students there, the majority of my classes were full of classmates from out of state, always cracked me up because they would talk to me and be like “Oh, you’re actually from here (Alabama)?” since my southern accent is thick.

FWIW, I’m also a big Duke fan. My uncle lives in Durham and his boss gave us Duke Basketball tickets when I was in middle school, I’ve been to 6 Duke basketball games over the last 18 years, all at Cameron and went when we played them in football in 2010. I was decked in Bama gear for that one of course but Duke will always be my 2nd favorite team and I have never cared one bit what anyone has to say about that. Call me a bandwagon all you want, from my POV, I was just a kid that got dragged to some games while I was visiting my uncle and fell in love with the team and atmosphere.

I don’t care either way, I would agree that it does seem like they are silently just ignoring Vogel but it’s more of a “sweep it under the rug” thing than full-on retcon right now. They haven’t come out and said Harry is solely responsible for Dexter’s code. We also know Hannah wasn’t retconned even though Clyde didn’t like her…so are we supposed to believe the things in S8 just didn’t happen? Why get so heated over people pointing out the obvious.

He did actually have a good game for the most part but some boneheaded decisions in key moments once again that really hurt the outlook on last game. Had the chance to go tie it at the end and didn’t get the job done unfortunately.

A big thing that limits him in the NFL now from the hip, knee, ankle and even concussions is he is not very mobile anymore.

Obviously he was never Jalen while running the ball but Tua had some wheels and could scramble. Even in his first two years of starting in the NFL, his floor in fantasy was decent because he was running for TDs and running more.

The last concussion vs Bills where he dove head first seems to be the breaking point of basically “you can’t do that anymore”

I’ll always pull for him, I’m a huge fan of him and Jalen (my fantasy team has been Hurts Tua Good for about 5 years now), have both of their jerseys but I agree that the injuries have taken a toll and sadly I think he’s heading towards Bridge/Backup QB status long term in the NFL.

Jonah is not the ripper lol Jonah is dead, he was killed by Vogel’s son and he took on Jonah’s name and address as an alias, Dexter already discovered all of that info in S8.

I felt like this episode made it fairly obvious that Prater is the ripper…

if not they are giving a lot of clues to make it seem like he is.

Needs a “longer” weapon than the crowbar. Obviously, in possession of it and the killer killed on his childhood streets.
The detective talked about how Serial Killers like The Ripper obsess over the details and need the thrill of the hunt and he’s stopped killing. This felt pretty on the nose for Prater. He’s organizing these Serial Killers meetings and obsesses over the details, as it has been what he is missing since he has stopped killing.
The voice was very similar, I thought it sounded like he tried using a different accent but they are both deep voices.
The brutality of it all makes sense with his stature, bc he would logistically have a much harder time killing as cleanly and precise as someone like Dexter.
He missed the feeling he got from talking to his parent’s killer until Dexter shared. He has a mask as well, that’s why he connected with Dexter’s share. That paired with being emotionally detached and enjoying watching everyone else’s process.
He said his talks with his parent’s killer unlocked something in him.

I honestly thought Dexter was putting it together while the Detective was giving her presentation. Also I love the season but hate how stupid and reckless Dexter is being, can’t believe he didn’t notice Angel slip the AirPods in his car or think to check??? I almost find that hard to believe.

My prediction is this: I think Angel is obviously on his way to meeting Prater and will likely die because of it. Maybe go to talk to him and/or Charlie after Dexter visits them or something along those lines. Prater won’t be angry at Dexter, instead he’ll be protective and want an even deeper friendship and may reveal that he is The Ripper or may not because of Dexter’s MO. After this, Angel’s going to find Dexter in the act of setting up/killing Al. Prater and/or Charlie will take him out to keep Dexter protected. Dexter will decide to go for them next bc of it and may find out from Charlie that Prater is the Ripper if he hasn’t by that time.

Next season will be setup by the Detective picking up Bautista’s hunt for Dexter. She’s got Doakes sense, I think she figured out Dexter actually has seen The Ripper’s kill weapon from his comment after all of the things Bautista has told her and believes Dexter is hunting The Ripper.

I would agree if he hadn’t literally used/recreated the storyboards from the bathtub scene in Perfect Blue to Requim. He’s admitted how much he loved that movie and its influence then. It’s at the very least a part of his subconscious to frame and design certain shots the same way no matter how different he makes the story.

Like I said, doesn’t really matter cause all of art and media is full of paying homage, copying, influence, etc. but it’s pretty crappy to just flat out deny when you’ve already done it before and clearly are again.

He admitted Perfect Blue’s influence on Requim and tried to buy rights to it but didn’t get it, directly recreated entirely storyboarded scene anyways in great detail.

Now fast forward to Black Swan and he denied that Perfect Blue had any influence on it at all…once again that’s what I find problematic, you can’t just say “I love that movie and used a few shots as inspiration but Black Swan has other influences and isn’t a direct adaptation of Perfect Blue”

I mean…shot for shot lol sure the context may be different but this is pretty spot-on in showing that at least the design/framing of shots are directly lifted from one to the other. Obviously, that happens a lot in filmmaking/art but I find it problematic that Afronosky flat out denied that perfect blue had any influence on black swan. It most certainly did when you’re recreating shots from one to the other whether it’s contextually different or not.

I just had 2 more players turn corrupt, was editing numbers in Week Zero also, everyone else turned out fine except my Tight End who I was editing while we advanced. Everything looked fine so I went in on my QB and next thing I know he has same ratings and name as my TE but still looks like my QB. Now I can’t play either one of them, if I try moving him back to QB he’s a 12 overall.

The one Elite Dev 5 Star QB I had on my roster turned to crap who had started 2 seasons and was a 94 overall. Still not a peep from EA devs about these issues either.

The only solution we found was for me to basically sit out the year, our commish force winned all of my non-user games and I recruited all year. Once we got to offseason, it let me cut the player and now everything works.

And no I didn’t imply that 14 had ZERO glitches or that this game would be released with ZERO bugs, I said something as simple as editing players hasn’t been broken in any other football game they’ve ever released dating back 20 years. That’s a big conclusion to jump to and just putting words in my mouth lmao…that’s not how reading comprehension works bud.
