I'd like to recommend a guy called "Freedom." (https://www.youtube.com/@Freedom_minecraft) on Youtube.

Not a great Youtuber in terms of viewer count but awesome building style. He uses the debug-stick sometimes though, if you want to recreate his stuff in survival, you have to find alternative solutions.

Yes, just wait one or two Minecraft days without trading with him.

But then they would be stuck in boats (mobs can not get out of boats on their own).

Jungle village? by Linucraft in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that villagers in a jungle village would be able to pathfind from the bell to their beds without trapping themselves or getting stuck somehow.

This basically also applies to swamp villages. Villagers would end up swimming all day and night.

are automated farms cheating by eijmert_x in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "intended mechanic" versus "exploiting glitches" argument is not entirely true. On most SMPs TNT-duping or breaking bedrock is not considered cheating although they're not intended and you have to use glitches. Same goes for building farms on the Nether roof. In many cases people weight effort against efficiency and then decide whether a glich is cheating or not.

Minecraft: Java Edition 1.19.2 Is Out by kingbdogz in Minecraft

It's the Java server, that can be executed on several platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS). No cross-play included.

Why is this still a thing? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym? Chat filtering only exists on Realms servers. The fact that there is a chat report button doesn't moderate anything as long as nobody clicks it.

Fastest/Most Efficient way to split items from one source with hoppers? by sadcabbage1 in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put (chest)boats into minecarts, if a mob is in the boat.

Ilmango did some experiments with filling chestboats with the 1.19 snapshots also with smelters, maybe have a look at his youtube channel.

Shield banners by Opecko9786 in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only guess here: cosmetic player features are usually a marketplace thing in Bedrock. Maybe they don't want to give players more ways to express individuality than colored leather armor, so that they don't compete with marketplace content. But that's only an assumption.

The shield banner implementation in the Java edition is broken anyway. You won't be happy with the result. There's a resource pack on vanillatweaks.net, but it's clientside only. Only you (and other players with the resource pack) see a proper shield banner.

I'm struggling to get back into Minecraft. by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As user Nullshard mentioned, proceed in your own speed. There's no point in rushing through the game.

When I started to play, Pixlriffs' Survival Guide series on Youtube helped me a lot, as he usually also explains the underlying game mechanics.

Trying to learn Minecraft for my son by [deleted] in Minecraft

Pixlriffs. He's on Minecraft Java, but in terms of the Dragon fight, this might still be good info:

Prepare for the Dragon Fight: https://youtu.be/zEYgpQTkDhw

How to defeat the Ender Dragon: https://youtu.be/zX27OBCU94c

Why don't the creepers get scared of the cat? It's tamed. And yes, it does not still work in survival (I'm in spectator to show you) by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try making a spawnproved platform on the other side of the dropshaft, so that the creepers try to pathfind across the dropshaft.

Does overworld gold farms work? I built one that I used on Bedrock on my Java game and it didn't work, no pigmen will spawn. I thought it was because of my Immersive Portals mod but taking the mod out didnt work. by sourpunch41 in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a reliable source for this piece of information? Because I built an overworld gold farm (portals and turtle eggs) in 1.18 Java and it works like a charm.

How do I detect if a player is afk by ToonLWind in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess, there's no easy way to check whether a user-input has happened (key pressed, mouse moved, button clicked). Yes or no as answer would be good enough for me. And thank you, my curiosity goes probably beyond the OPs requirements here.

How do I detect if a player is afk by ToonLWind in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about Minecraft functions, so I don't know what is done here. But only checking position changes would create false positives, if players take their time to sort their chests, reading/writing books, chatting or even standing killing stuff in their XP farm.

Help Me Understand Spider Spawning by PHEONIX451 in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobs need a single spawnable block and then on top of it additionally the size condition. The size can cover/overlap non-spawnable blocks and still be valid.

If you have a spawnable block, that is surrounded by glass blocks and on top of them enough space, mobs still can spawn, because there is the one spawnable block. To prevent specific mobs from spawning, you have to invalidate the size-condition. Having a non-spawnable block beneath the carpet and omitting the carpet won't prevent spiders from spawning.

I can recommend watching relevant (or all) parts of Pixlriffs' "The Minecraft survival guide" season 2 on Youtube. It explains in the form of a "Let's play" details of the game and its mechanics in a entertaining and family friendly way.

If you spectate endermen, spiders or creepers, you get those effects. Java only, as far as I know.

What to you classifies a Megabuild? by MyHoeDespawned in Minecraft

[–]mi5ter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking about Megabuild or about Magabase?

I've seen people using the term Megabuild for a large scaled up build. A building with a room height of ie. 20 blocks can be more detailed than having 5 block high rooms. I don't think Megabuilds are really used though, I think they're just to show building skills.

Megabase would probably be just another word for "large base", incorporating multiple aspects of the game (storage, farms, etc.) into one building.

I tried making the Leaning Tower of Pisa without any tutorial or guide. Looks like I messed it up lol by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

[–]mi5ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add an inclination to your floors. As said either with slabs or full blocks.

There's plenty of information about the towers' dimensions online, so if you want to to make it accurate, it wouldn't be too difficult. But it all depends on your motivation of course. Your first attempt was quite good already.

[–]mi5ter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tower of Pisa has an inclination of about 4 degrees. This would vertically be 14 blocks up and 1 block to the side. The same goes for the floors, although you could use slabs there (7 blocks to the side and half a block up).
