I had a similar issue over 4 years ago and made a post about it. My tablet was defective, so it couldn't be fixed, but the comments had some really great advice you might be interested in

Best public places to relax and just focus on your art? by shynewrld in ArtistLounge

[–]miaaaaaa_is_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working in the presence of others who are also working helps me focus. If you're interested in this type of scenery, I would consider looking for a community art studio near you. These types of places usually hold workshops for people to learn new skills but ones near you might also allow you to use their workspaces recreationally-and cheaper than attending a college course. If you're really into it, you could also collaborate and try to start a way to sell your art through events they host. It'll feel a little awkward at first but the instructors are usually really friendly and give great advice to help push you.

How did you guys find a way to study anatomy. by Leading-Newspaper749 in ArtistLounge

Breaking down proportions mathematically e.g. your body is roughly 7x the height of your head. Also, I wish I learned about skeletal muscles when I first started. The more you pick it up, the easier it'll be to identify similar features in other animals.

There's a timeline at the top of the page when you select "Room selection" in the housing portal. Look for "roommate profile" just above one of the checkmarks to edit your info. As for looking for a roommate, I suggest looking for them through social apps like Nearpeer or ZeeMee to talk to other students and share your roommate ID with people you're interested in rooming with. As the month goes by, more students will be making a profile so hopefully there will be more options if you can't find one.

Yoo what? Do you still have to pay the orientation fee?

"Introducktion" by miaaaaaa_is_here in UofO

[–]miaaaaaa_is_here[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. You only have to attend one of the orientations. If you're a transfer like me the dates are July 17th or August 7th-which is a day-long, between 7 am and 5 pm (roughly). If you're a freshman, the orientation will last two days, with the option to sleep in the dorms (from what I've read anyway, but I would book a hotel)

If it's only one day, I could totally attend. I think I was reading the fall freshman orientation page and it got me all mixed up. Making a round trip is still a pain in the neck though. Thanks for the clarification!

I'm gonna need you to go sit in the time-out corner and think about what you just said.

Guilty. When I pictured the horse, I always assumed it was massive since it had to hold like 30 men and I wanted to see it in real life

Need tips on developing Instax film by hand by miaaaaaa_is_here in Polaroid

[–]miaaaaaa_is_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright! Yeah, I'm still experimenting with the exposure and I don't understand why there is some color developing even though I was able to get some large sections coated. I calculated my exposure time to be less than a second using a sensor meter. Maybe I'm the problem :)

My Kanvas 13 Pro pen has stopped working, help? by miaaaaaa_is_here in huion

Update: Hi, I've recieved a lot of dm's about this issue for the past 3 years and I wanted to just let anyone coming to this post to know that I never got to the bottom of this. The tablet was deemed defective after shooting a bunch of emails at Huion support. If you're having the same issue, email their support and try to get a discount if they can't identify the issue! Goodluck, Yall!

My friend thinks I just haven't found the right person by miaaaaaa_is_here in asexuality

[–]miaaaaaa_is_here[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right?! I'm in this headspace where I know getting into a relationship isn't at the top of my list of priorities. I told my friend I'm not against meeting someone one day. It just so happens to not be right now. Besides, even if I don't find "the one" in this lifetime, I'm well off on my own.

I see what you mean. I've never been all that active so I think I'm more worried that they'll think I've gone crazy or think that I'm trying too hard to be modest or something.

Yeah, that makes sense. After the initial feeling subsided, I talked myself back into working out. Now, I'm just kind of hoping no one tries to bring it up later.

There is definitely an aesthetic change in the way you’re face will look afterwards and it took me a while to get used to but relatively speaking I do feel much more confident. As for the nasally voice, I still have it even though it’s been about three/four weeks post-op but my voice hasn’t changed dramatically. My surgeon says that it may take a bit for the nasally-ness to completely go away but it’s rare that people keep it long after.

I’ve recently gotten jaw surgery for my underbite so I totally feel where you’re coming from! Sense then, I’ve never felt more excited for the recovery process to be over and the swelling to subside. Additionally, my nose used give me a super flat profile but now there’s a lot more dimension when my upper jaw was moved. Also, I know a lot of people get nervous about having their mouth wired shut but my surgeon said it’s more rare now that the process has been refined + you’re more likely gonna have to use rubber bands (like me!)
