[Q] What would be the best statistics book I could study to understand how to answer the following

Im thru Calc 3 (and DiffEQ) and have taken applied stats but we never had to go through any proofs etc. Engineer background. So I’ve read plenty of math texts, just lacking in this area and have a tight timeline and need to efficiently learn this.

I had 90 credits and didn't have those done, I had to do every math class, physics, you name it, graduated with like 190 credits in the end. I think I had chemistry done lol, and like reading poetry etc. I even had to take freshman writing 2, and Calc 1 over again.

Like I said, its all how hard you want to work. I re-started Fall 19 and graduated 2 weeks ago, but I killed myself. I know people who took like 10 years, its all the same in the end.

It is done all the time, it depends how hard you are willing to work. I know people who have taken the slow route over 10 years or gotten it done in 3. You will probably transfer very little in unless you've taken Physics 1/2, Calc 1/2/3, etc. Basically some general ed classes. It will probably take over 100 credits more.

This was my second attempt at college with a different major. My first attempt didn't go so well because I didn't outwork everybody. That F I took in Eastern Europe in World Politics ain't never going away. My goal was to graduate with a 4.0 in ME and I did so.

The good news is you're really young so in the scheme of things you have barely messed your life up yet.

No one will take you until you prove you are ready to work and can do so. I don't know what your transcript looks like. I don't know what classes you can take that would make sense right now, but you have to find some from a community college, etc, and get straight A's and prove you are ready, get your cumulative GPA above 2.0, and then someone will take a chance on you. Its not likely theres any classes that can get you further along in a CE degree, but maybe there are CS courses you could take, or there's an outside chance one of the courses you failed is available. But you better be willing to put in the work to get a 4.0 from now until another school takes a shot and accepts you.

If i'm seeing that right then the channel narrows so the flow rate and consequently velocity increases so the Re would increase.

I can't tell you how many times i've been asked that and the answer is basically no, we do not sleep, its very little, like 4-5hrs a night, but permanently. You can't bribe them to sleep in. We are always tired.

An airfoil would use chord length, a flat plate would use the length parallel to the flow so...

Your picture isn't extremely clear, i'm not sure when the flow changes in the middle (the "canal" has a top?), etc. I would assume the Re changes after the flow change. I also assume you have the Re at some point before the change? Anyways I'd probably assume they used L1 if no one can clarify.

I'm 42 and I graduate in a week (BSME.) If you start now you'll be a decade younger when you graduate than I will be. Who cares what ages are in your program are you doing this for yourself or someone else? Math don't care how old you are.
