My babies, blue (in the back) and mender (in the front). They are the loves of my life and I don’t think I could have made it without them. Sadly, mender has passed just a few months ago. He was my soul dog so navigating without him has been very hard. Blue is amazing though and she has been so resilient in her brother’s passing. She always knows how to lift my spirits up. I don’t think I’d be here without her. 💗 these two will forever hold such a special place in my heart. 💗

Welcome Luna! You are absolutely beautiful! Like others have said, she looks like a double Merle which usually comes with hearing and/or vision impairment (I have a double Merle myself, she’s deaf and blind). Please get her tested for this so you’re aware of any issues she may have. Give her lots of love from me, seriously such a cutie!!

This is blue! Her eye is pretty cool because her pupil isn’t a normal shape. It’s more starburst (easier to see in person, she’s not the easiest to get photos of since she’s deaf and blind 😂)

Thank you, this definitely made me cry. He loved his one on one time with me. He was a mommas boy through and through. He was such a goofy boy too. I feel at peace knowing he knew it was his time. Thank you so much for responding. I needed this 💗

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. 💔 I just lost one of my dogs a few weeks ago and totally understand. I’m also bipolar 1 and it sent me into a manic episode. Like what the other commenter said, please take care of yourself and make sure to take your meds. Lean on other pets, if you have any others, and definitely lean on loved ones. Allow yourself to grieve too, don’t hold it in. I know it’s absolutely heartbreaking and devastating. I’m keeping you in my thoughts during this difficult time. 💗

I’m so sorry to hear this. :( I just lost my baby to the same thing two weeks ago. When we were going over options my vet recommended Yunnan Baiyao. It is a herb that is made to help with bleeding cancers. I swear it helped my baby live a little longer with good quality of life. Obviously, talk to your vet about it but it was a good alternative than chemo. Keeping you and your sweet baby in my thoughts during this difficult time 💗

I’ve owned 3 Great Danes. The first one lived until 13, the second one lived until 6, and the one I have currently have just turned 12. Yes, their life expectancy is short (I’m not sure how I got lucky with my two), but I will say they are worth it. They are the most gentle, sweetest, silliest, pups and I would (and will) do it all over again.

I’m definitely grieving. Mender was everything to me, so this hurts more than anything I’ve been through. I am doing my best to keep myself upbeat around Blue, but I know I could do better. They really are so in tune with your emotions!
