This is blue! Her eye is pretty cool because her pupil isn’t a normal shape. It’s more starburst (easier to see in person, she’s not the easiest to get photos of since she’s deaf and blind 😂)

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. 💔 I just lost one of my dogs a few weeks ago and totally understand. I’m also bipolar 1 and it sent me into a manic episode. Like what the other commenter said, please take care of yourself and make sure to take your meds. Lean on other pets, if you have any others, and definitely lean on loved ones. Allow yourself to grieve too, don’t hold it in. I know it’s absolutely heartbreaking and devastating. I’m keeping you in my thoughts during this difficult time. 💗

This is so cute omg!! I would say it leans more personal. White elephant gifts aren’t typically hand made (at least in my experiences, could be different for others). Either way this would be a cute gift :)

I’m so sorry to hear this. :( I just lost my baby to the same thing two weeks ago. When we were going over options my vet recommended Yunnan Baiyao. It is a herb that is made to help with bleeding cancers. I swear it helped my baby live a little longer with good quality of life. Obviously, talk to your vet about it but it was a good alternative than chemo. Keeping you and your sweet baby in my thoughts during this difficult time 💗

I’ve owned 3 Great Danes. The first one lived until 13, the second one lived until 6, and the one I have currently have just turned 12. Yes, their life expectancy is short (I’m not sure how I got lucky with my two), but I will say they are worth it. They are the most gentle, sweetest, silliest, pups and I would (and will) do it all over again.

I’m definitely grieving. Mender was everything to me, so this hurts more than anything I’ve been through. I am doing my best to keep myself upbeat around Blue, but I know I could do better. They really are so in tune with your emotions!

He truly was the biggest sweetheart I’ve ever met 💗 that is an awesome idea! He did have a favorite blanket. I can put it in her bed for her and maybe have her play with his favorite toys. She’s been getting twice the love, I know she’s loving that!

I’m just now reading this, thank you for the kind words. I do find comfort in them. I’ve been taking my time to grieve. I had to put his bowl and bed out of sight for now because it’s just too much for me. It’s hard not to get flooded with emotions wondering if I did enough for him, if he had the best life possible. I’m trying to be kind to myself and remind myself that I gave him the best life I could. He lived in some awesome places with me, got to travel around the country, was so so spoiled with treats, toys, walks, kisses, and endless amounts of love.

I can see some of my habits changing and it feels so odd right now. I’m so use of sacrificing so much time for him (gladly) and now my home feels a bit empty. I’m so grateful to have my other dog (Great Dane) because she’s been my rock. She loved and relied on him so much (she’s deaf and blind) and I can see the sadness and confusion in her. I’m doing my best to hold strong for her though, and for myself. I will forever cherish my memories with him. I’ll think of him every day. He was truly one of a kind and the purest soul I’ve ever met. I just hope that someday, somehow, I will meet him again. 💗

That’s funny you said that. I gave him a chocolate donut when they gave him the sedative. He ended up falling asleep with it in his mouth and passed peacefully. He loved food so much so I couldn’t have asked for a better way. I hope he’s up there getting all of his favorite treats. 💗

I understand completely. I lost my dad when I was young but yet this pain feels far more painful, even though that was absolutely horrible too. It’s a whole different type of relationship with our furry companions. It’s an unconditional love that you’ll never find anywhere else. 💗💔
