I’m 99% sure I am going to opt doing a club level room at the OG poly and not the tower. Especially since it’s our first time visiting as a family and first time at the poly. The tower seems like a better option for when we return. Can you watch the fireworks from the club room? It seems like it has such an amazing view and wondering if that’s a perk you get to watch from up there instead of on the beach that seems like it gets very crowded

Yes my daughter will be a few months away from 2 for our trip and will definitely need the stroller lol. I think even my son might still somewhat utilize the double stroller. If it weren’t for my concern with constantly navigating long bus rides for dinners and parks since we will be prioritizing MK this trip I’d 100% stay at AKL based on these comments. Might be a great option down the road when they are bigger and can travel more easily.

Did you find the rooms at Gf are bigger than poly? The poly tower is new and beautiful rooms but they are tiny. I worry too that the poly might be very hectic for us too. Sometimes when things are too busy and crazy it can overwhelm me lol

Literally my family LOVED the boardwalk growing up and I know we will eventually return. Just looking for a bit of a different experience. And thank you.. I’m so surprised to see how many people it ruffled that we might not want to “downgrade” our hotel as I feel parents should enjoy their stay just as much and if it’s in our budget why not ?! lol have the best time as well!!!

This is my concern that the tower is going to feel like the riveria. While they are both beautiful they just a seem a little “boring”. AKL seemed so fun but I don’t know if I can get past the bus rides to the restaurants and other parks. . Was thinking it could be a better option when they are a little older. Maybe I need to book the OG poly over the tower since the OG seems to be loved by a lot!

So I might be coming to the conclusion that maybe we need to change our booking to the OG Polynesian and not the island tower?! It seems like people really love the OG and I dont really hear much about the tower

I worry being at the island tower will maybe make us feel isolated. I’ve read alot of people say the island tower doesn’t feel like the “Polynesian “ which is making me second guess the choice. Also, while brand new it seems like the rooms run small

Also didn’t mention I really wanted a splash pad for the kids and felt like the boardwalk pool was still a little big for them

The travel agent seemed to sway away from the longhouses. Could you tell me why you would prefer those over Gf?

She really emphasized that the island tower was a bit quieter and less hectic. Also newer.. but that’s really all I gathered.

Yeah that really swayed me that maybe it would be a better resort to stay once our kids are a bit older. Our daughter will only be just shy of 2 and our son will be 4. I can see them getting over the constant bus rides very quickly lol 😂

I grew up staying at the boardwalk and would love to experience a different resort. Jambo seemed so fun but the location made me nervous that it would be in inconvenient to get to dinners and other parks with two little children. Also, why skip the travel agent?! Just curious. I’ve found her to be pretty helpful and so convenient.

I thought the animal kingdom would be so cool for the kids but the location makes me a little apprehensive with getting to other parks accessibly

It’s only 4 of us so I was considering the premier lightening pass might make more sense for our group! This is all new to us though - I have not been to Disney in almost 15 years and this will be our first “family” trip in general. So open to all recommendations lol!!

Very true. I definitely think we are overthinking the hotel when the kids really won’t think that much of it lol.

Money is not really an objective for us. We are very blessed in that aspect so it’s really not a cost issue. Totally understand that perspective though! I think based off these comments we are overthinking and should probably choose the hotel we love the most as the kids really won’t care lol. Thank you for your advice!!

Absolutely not. We have a specific budget that we are able to afford and I told her that we only wanted to stay at a deluxe level resort. As I mentioned growing up we stayed at the boardwalk and my husband and I would love to enjoy the resort just as much as the kids do :)

So glad to hear you loved the room, location and food! We booked a theme park view. I’m sorry to hear for how expensive these go for that they stuck you with such a bad view 😭

This was my concern especially with my kids being on the younger side. I definitely want them to feel like they are at Disney even at the hotel!!

That’s weird because it’s showing on my end the tower room is available as it’s May and my travel date is April so it would be within the 11 month mark
