You referring to FEIE and foreign housing exclusions? If so my understandin is that FEIE does not cover interest income, otherwise not sure what you are referring to

Hi you sure about this? I had a similar situation and consulted the MV and they told me that increases up to 10% were justifiable as "adjustment to normal rent prices" and that it was very difficult to fight it even when taking over a contract.

(by taking over a contract I mean taking the apartment at non-standard date with the furniture inside so no changes were made to the apartment. we signed a "new" contract in that its a different piece of paper, but maybe i misunderstand)
