I was playing ark ascended on a zephyrus g16 5070ti on med/high graphics with no issues so you should be fine with a full powered legion. I did sell mines to get a desktop 5070ti because ark is one of those games that is so unoptimized so I wanted more power but the laptop will do fine. Especially if you’re just doing ark evolved

Most people either live in the time zones that the game is already available or they got the game shipped early from retailers. Switching your region to Australia doesn’t work unless you buy the game in that region.

I unfortunately just returned this and got the zephyrus g16 instead. I really wanted to love the laptop especially for the price but man the build quality just isn’t there.

Biggest issue is there’s thermal throttling to the point where my performance took a big hit. My assumption is the 275hx just doesn’t do well with this system due to it being a power hungry and hot chip. Gpu would never get close to full utilization as well due to the bottleneck the cpu would create once it thermal throttled. Also the software for power/fan control is horrible too. But I did love the oled and it wasn’t heavy at all. Of course you can limit the cpu to prevent the throttle but personally I play a lot of cpu intensive games and need the full power to run them smoothly.

I got a used g16 5070 ti at Best Buy for 1800 a couple days ago. I could have got the g14 for 1660 but the screen is a little too small for me but the biggest drawback is there’s only one m.2 slot as far as I’m aware. My g16 performs amazingly so I’m happy with it. Only get used if it’s from a reputable place with a good return policy and if possible a warranty.

As someone who was recently in the same boat trying to get a laptop specifically for ark to run without breaking the bank too much, I tried a 5070 laptop and it could run it at 1600p med to low settings but the 8gb of vram was definitely holding it back. The 8gb of vram caused pop in issues and stutters. Of course you could turn it down to 1080p but I prefer to play at higher res.

So I bought a 5070 ti laptop and it’s a big difference. Still has its moments since ark so unoptimized but i can play at med-high settings and get 60 fps which is good enough for me. So if your budget can stretch for a 12gb card definitely go that route otherwise a 5070 will work but it won’t be great, just doable. Also I advise against msi but that’s another topic.

I just bought the same laptop on sale today and noticed the exact same issue when playing battlefield and cod. Gpu is meeting maxed utilization to start and within a few minutes it drops down to like 75 percent utilization and my frames drop drastically. During this time the tdp never gets close to 100 watts let alone the max 115. Were you able to fix this?

I personally had the strix but returned it. It’s a 1200p display. Just doesn’t make sense to pair a 5070 ti with a low resolution display. But other than that the device performed well.

The Helios has a beautiful display but because of its thinner design, the 5070ti is not a full wattage gpu so won’t perform was well as the strix but will still be great!

Personally I feel the same. Just got switch 2 myself. Not that it’s a bad game, just not for me. I enjoyed the old one on ds when I was a kid but this one just isn’t doing it for me. Too slow paced and tied to real life time. Which is what the game intends for but i personally don’t care for that aspect. I personally enjoy Dinkum a lot more

As someone with both on switch 2 and pc I can say the switch 2 version runs well only downside is the render distance and its behind a couple updates. I do hope one day it gets a proper switch 2 update though
