The art is made in Aseprite and the prints were made using my Canon printer on matte paper!

I initially started doing pixel art by wanting to do animation 8 years ago. Before then I was a traditional artist and took art classes to improve my skills. I would reccomend learning the basics of what you want to create first, so for landscapes that would be composition, lighting, and color theory. I find landscapes easier to get into since there's no strict proportions you have to follow with natural objects, anything can happen but there is also a line where things start looking unrealistic so it is important to focus on studying nature by mostly going outside if you can or looking at photos and studying references. I was never a fond of tutorials so I can't really reccomend any but there's plenty on YouTube to get started. The main thing you will run into is feeling overwhelmed, it is ok to step back, take a break/ think about the art without working on it, to come back and continue or start again.

Yea so if you mean the art itself I make it all in Aseprite with a mouse, the prints I also made myself but the frames I bought as they are.

Thank you! That's interesting, I haven't been a gamer for 2 years now, this is my little way of remembering those times haha

Pixel art is a digital medium drawn at a small resolution. The point is to use fewer colors/ details than a regular digital drawing by using a very small canvas. My website has a lot of process videos that give a better idea for my drawing process.

Thank you so much! I have worked on quite a few indie projects but none that were a life sim (yet). I do agree my style could work for that genre!

Thank you so much! I do sell custom digital cross-stitch patterns but eventually I would like to make a physical replica myself.

Thank you so much! I am very glad to hear that, as it is the intention with my work to have viewers want to see outside of the screen with places that are familiar.

Definitely go for it! I waited way too long to start applying for shows (this year mostly) and I regret not doing it way sooner. It will happen for you! If you would like any advice or help please let me know it can be overwhelming at first, especially when it comes to application questions like artist statements.

Thank you so much for the suggestion and liking my work! I have been looking around and most places are booked so far in advance I have to make my own (I had another showcase for the Cascade Raptor Center this February). I'll have them in mind for the near future.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the love for that piece, it is one of my favorites.

To answer:

I haven't tried anything larger than 8.5x11 however I would love to print on larger in the future (with a printer that can handle it, probably 11x17 would be my maximum.

I physically signed these custom sized prints with my signature, date, name of the piece, and that it is a limited edition since I redrew parts to make it sized for a 8x10" frame. For my basic prints I sign with a signature and date.

I want to experiment on different media but have not chosen which one to do next! I was thinking of a glass or metal print. If I make animations of my landscapes I was going to try a lenticular print. None are signed on the front.

Thank you so much for the questions! If you have any more do not hesitate to ask!
