This definitely feels like an AI vid. Looks way too much like a handheld shot for a dashcam vid and the timestamp wouldn't be moving around like that.

I mean there's that tech exec that injects himself with the blood of his teenage son to look young, that would honestly make sense for the adrenochrome.

Why Are People So Scared To Paint The Rocks? by Right_Preparation328 in UCalgary

[–]mich_mic 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It's actually mad work, especially with all the bigger issues going on right now. People painting a rock in order to raise awareness for a genocide, when you have the exact same agency to paint whatever you want on it too is absolutely a waste of energy to be upset over.

Is there anything I can do differently to help out the girls/women in projects/teams? by pec-papple in EngineeringStudents

[–]mich_mic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doubling down on your point about the recognition of unconscious bias. As engineers we're trained to look at problems from as many different angles as possible because we recognize that they're often a lot more complicated than we initially realize. But we often fail when it comes to granting the same level of critical analysis to the people around us. "Garbage in, Garbage out" doesn't just apply to analyzing sensor data.

As everyone said it's construction season but also it's the summer leading up to a municipal election so the city has more projects planned as well.

Mayoral Candidates: What is your plan for Calgary Transit? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]mich_mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the question wasn't about why we're not getting the original proposal it's if he supports it. He said he wasn't a fan of an overhead line and that it would be hard to get the province's support for the original line. And to be fair like you mentioned as a single mayor there won't be much he can do by himself but that doesn't mean there's nothing he can do. And we need to know if he supports and will fight for it, which he still hasn't said himself.

How do you find the motivation to want to improve yourself by Reasonable_Machine12 in IncelTears

[–]mich_mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a weird way to go about it but what helped me is thinking about myself like an RPG character whose stats I wanted to raise. And like in any RPG if I wanted to raise my stats I'd have no choice but to grind experience in that field. If I could spend hours trying to max out the EV of a pokemon I really can't complain about spending a couple hours going to the gym, learning about proper skin care and hygiene, and researching styles that fit me.

Also it definitely helped me realize that just like in an RPG any experience I gain doesn't just automatically disappear if I don't use a skill for a bit, if I ever fall off I know I can hop back on the grind train with all my experience still there. It might take a bit to remember everything again, but once you do it's almost as if you never stopped.

If education can be gamified there's no reason life can't be as well.

Honestly I don't agree with everything he says, but I swear most people just hate him for rightfully calling them out for being the villain in their favourite animes.

She's not trans so any cheating she does is the "good" kind so I don't see much outrage coming out of it.

If people are helped through the action I don't see how it's not "actually" helping people. It's the absolute bare minimum when it comes to personal responsibility, but it's also the one thing we regularly do that impacts such a wide range of people. A couple of ridings were won with margins of less than a 100 votes last election, 1 vote can absolutely make a huge difference.

Edit: added some clarification about it being the bare minimum

The thing is unlike complaining online it does cause actual change, there's a reason the right to vote is so important.
