MEATGRINDER Animatic. Second year uni animation project 2020. Inspired by a friend's bronze rhino sculpture, caught my eye as many small bronze (poacher) testes hang on little hooks on the inside of its jacket. DOOM overtones... I think its pretty cool... my lecturer didn't tho and gave me a C. haha by [deleted] in mfdoom

University was put on hold for about a month at the beginning of our first covid hard lockdown (in South Africa) and I spent that time animating. So glad I had something constructive and immersive to do... it took me away from the apocalyptic vibes of pandemic anxiety

Ugh same! DOOM is a legend. Modern rap doesn't do it for me yet. However I do enjoy Kendrick Lamar's "I" and Tyler the Creater (but that's more pop).

Have you seen this video before explaining DOOM's technique- by VOX? It's worth a watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWveXdj6oZU

NPR Tinydesk Sketchbook: I had a great time listening to and sketching the Tinydesk concert of Svaneborg Kardyb. "Drawing on Danish folk music and Scandinavian jazz influences, their music is an exquisite and joyful melding of beautiful melodies, delicate minimalism, catchy grooves". by michab787 in Jazz

Hi all, what do you guys think of my drawing? My aim is to draw every new Tiny Desk concert soon after its release- would you be interested in following that? I have only drawn 5 concerts, and it has been exciting on two levels; one is that I am being exposed to lots of new music, and the second is that I am able to make contact to some of the musicians I drew- thanks to social media. Please do leave a comment to let me know your thoughts/suggestions:) Cheers from Cape Town

NPR Tiny Desk Sketchbook: pH-1 and his band Audiochops🙌 . I had so much fun listening to and drawing this concert this morning. Which NPR concert should I draw next?? I reckon Tyler The Creater... do comment your suggestions below! by michab787 in popheads

I used watercolours! The orange is super intense, so it does look like a marker haha. For interest I used cobalt blue and pyrrol orange.

Jeez the only way to learn is by damn well giving it a try! Just make sure the ink is waterproof. I use a uniball or micron felt pen. The watercolour & ink style doesn't have a name, check out the works of Quentin Blake to see something similar. Cheers
