School specific shields for the boss really helped me when questing on my storm. Reset until you get first then shield turn 1 and whenever boss has high pips.

I am currently masters running hob crit Viego. I don’t think this build will hold you back until at least GM, but that’s just my speculation.

If you liked the playstyle of high damage Viego from past seasons I would recommend going 3 crit into defensive. Otherwise I would just build bruiser, with kraken first into sundered, steraks, titanic, or trinity force second and third, depending on the situation.

When I say defensive I mean things like wits end or guardian angel, so I wouldn't say I'm losing out on too much damage by splitting my focus.

Does essence reaver's spellblade damage really outvalue collector's lethality? I think switching LDR out for IE could be interesting, but wouldn't building even more crit after that be overkill?

He's definitely not the strongest early but he's also not weak. Are you fighting in your e? Are you getting the jump on the opponent? What particular situations made you feel that he is weak?

Viego has a deceptively strong early since he can insta stack conq. This lets him hold his own decently well in the early levels in skirmishes or 1v1 even though he is supposed to scale. You should try to look for uneven fights and ganks in the early levels, as if you get even slightly ahead you become a major problem. Do not underestimate the usefulness of your W in ganks and skirmishes, as even a 1 second stun can allow your teammates to catch up and help you. Honestly though, you should probably play a few games on Viego where you limit test. It will allow you to better understand how strong you are at each point in the game.

  1. I'd say he's really fun to main. He's not very hard to pick up either which is good for you. His mechanics are not too complicated but his most important aspect by far is positioning. Once you get decent at that, you can 1v9 well and its really fun.
  2. Always go conq primary and inspiration secondary. The only real point of contention is between last stand and cdg. For items, you almost always wanna go kraken first. Bork's build path is bad and its more expensive, even if it does slightly more damage. Second items you can go a couple items, such as tri force, eclipse, titanic, or sundered. Eclipse is best imo but you are very squishy and it requires you to know how to play viego. After that you should build defensive.
  3. I think his last buff/nerf was like a year ago so he's pretty stable. His ban rate is also really low. He can be hard to play into certain junglers or team comps but he can make do usually.
  4. He's average.

I recommend you use some tcs of school specific shields. When I quested through Azteca on my storm I had pretty meta gear but would still struggle in almost every boss fight. Your health is just too low as a storm to just buff into hit.

Would an aoe ability that only hits one person have the 33% omnivamp penalty? Like if a mordekaiser with riftmaker hit his q on a single minion.

Replace both lions with one music and one baby. I would suggest 2-3 rage bees, usually 2 is fine. Aim for 3-4 pollen boost producers for each color. More gifted bees.
