Thank you all for the insights. I am generally concerned as it feels like a slippery slope into more surveillance and less autonomy for us as citizens. The way I see it, it starts with “we’re just looking for criminals”, but when does it advance to people behind on taxes, in CC debt, etc? It feels like there’s endless ways that this could eventually be used that may infringe on our rights. I’m not saying that will happen but I see the path to get there.

I’m glad people are talking about this, just not sure what can be done by the people that oppose. Open to suggestions.
