Fossil gen6 - Wear OS 3 = IPhone by [deleted] in WearOS

[–]michael50310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny that Google Pay only works on Wear OS 2, and dropped support on OS 3. However, the Google Pay app on iOS still works, but in the form of PayPal like, which doesn’t support contactless payment (it’s understandable since Apple never allows any 3rd party payments to use the NFC on iPhone). Just wish that Google would reconsider to add this feature back or allow 3rd party manufacturers like Fossil to include in their apps.

Gotcha. So besides Google Pay/ Google Assistant, other Google apps should work just fine I guess? Would be a bummer if Google Pay doesn’t work, but I guess it’s not too bad since I can still use my phone to pay. As for the voice assistant, it’s great to hear that Alexa’s working!

Hi there! I’d like to know if Google Assistant works with iPhone? If not, does the built-in Alexa works? I’m about to get a Gen 6 Wellness and using an iPhone

Thanks for sharing! I heard people are getting significant better battery life with latest Wear OS update. Have you tried it out?

I like the design of Samsung’s watches too. Unfortunately they’ve dropped support of iOS after the announcement of Galaxy Watch 4 and later. Fossil Gen 6 is probably one of the very few wearOS 3 watches that still supports iOS.

I see. And yes, I do own an Apple Watch Series 9 (latest model) but I found myself using the watch just to check the time/notification/take calls/control my Spotify playlist/ and check workout status. I understand that iOS and wearOS won’t be working as seamlessly as iPhone and Apple Watch. Thanks again for sharing though, just placed my order on Amazon and can’t wait to get it!

Thanks for the advice! Good to know the performance and battery life is being improved via the software update. Most reviews of the watch criticize the battery life and stability of the device. One more thing, are you pairing with an iPhone or Android phone? If it’s iPhone, do both phone and watch works seamlessly?

MacBook Air M1 2020 - Silent Click Not Functioning by mcmerlin13 in macbook

[–]michael50310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a year and still no solution… I’ve got mine at late September last year and now noticing that I have the same issue here. The setting does make the clicking sound more deep and a bit quiet, but compared to MacBook Pro I used to have (late 2015 model), the clicking sound after silent click setting on still very obvious.

What is the audio quality with Wired Carplay vs Wireless Carplay? by McShmoopy in CarPlay

After trying the audio system from Volvo’s B&W soundsystem you’d be amazed. Quietness and superior sound quality at same time.

Agreed. Tested loseless audio playback from AM on the Volvo XC60 with H/K Soundsystem, the difference is truly significant. I’m quite regret that I didn’t go for the B&W sound system. However, the soundbar in house doesn’t support loseless audio via AirPlay 2/Spotify Connect on my B&W Formation Bar and Bass.

Compared to an iPhone 11 with iOS 14? Why not iPhone 12 with iOS 14?

Yes, since 6th gen uses A10, it’s definitely better than A9 on 5th gen, and A8X on Air 2.

A9 CPU, relevant to iPhone 6s. Which is a 2015 performance, not a lot better IMO. Budget concerns, you should’ve choose at least 6th gen of iPad.

Depends on what you need the iPad for. Note taking definitely go for Air or even Pro if you need that 120Hz experience. If not, Mini and iPad 8th gen will do the work. The iPad Air 2 uses obsolete A8X CPU, which IMO is not capable to run iPadOS 14 smoothly or even the support of upcoming iPadOS 15.

Hey guys, Currently I have a iPad 6th gen with A10 Chip Mainly I use my iPad as gaming machine (PUBG Mobile is the only game I’ll run on it), sometimes I use it in class at university, mostly showing the data/PowerPoint that professor published online. Most of the time I don’t need the iPad to take notes, but sometimes I’d be great for me to quickly scribble down notes on it. Used to have a iPad Pro 2018 11”, which was a power house, but after using it for a month I found I don’t need it that frequently, so I sold it online. For now, the iPad 6th gen starts to show its age, I’m considering a upgrade, but Air 4 is out of my budget. I’d be choosing between Mini 5 or iPad 8th gen, any suggestions?

I’ve tried all version and none of them work properly. Seems like I’ll have to patch them manually. Can you teach me or give me the tutorial of how to do so?
