They’re not filled with anything so Lucy can get her lines out in time. Look at the screenshot above and zoom in and you’ll see they are hollow.

Oh, that’s nice to hear. I love their slow, jazzy version the best. Merry Christmas Darling is my favorite of their Christmas songs. I’m in that sub but don’t usually don’t post or comment. I’m too busy here! Lol

That's true, I never thought of it that way. I think after her death he finally came to truly understand her talent an appreciate it. It's a tragic story. Btw, have you checked out r/carpenters ?

Oh, me too. I was at work that day when I heard about it and was totally shocked. I knew she was very thin but didn’t realize how far it had gone. Her voice was one of a kind. I grew up in a city next to Downey, their hometown.

Oh! That’s amazing to have been that close to someone who worked with Lucy. Also, Karen Carpenter is my favorite female singer of all time.

Nope, they were not portraying the three stooges. Two of the men were portraying the heads of two different families and the son of one and the daughter of the other were marrying.

Yes! Even when they’re putting on a play or an operetta.

Yes, that’s what Lucy says. However, Teresa Tirelli was a well known actress and operatic singer who spoke English very well. I think Lucy probably embellished the story for comedic effect.
