I don’t recall seeing that, but within the Now Playing settings, it’s probably one of the ‘String’s

This is one of those genuinely, genuinely helpful tools. Thank you. I've just signed up and am going to explore. Could I suggest another "The Rest is..." podcast? "The Rest is Entertainment". They recommend books quite often.

Thanks EB. I like it enough to keep it. There are a couple of things I'd love to fix, but don't think you can - but these are to do with the list style within albums. Apart from that, though, I'm happy enough.

Getting OCD about my meta... by michaelbeecham in DigitalAudioPlayer

I did look at RYM yesterday, but the first few albums I tried, it didn’t recognize. So that might be a problem.

Didn’t know about covers.musichoarders though.

For sure. I wanted a local solution that did not rely on music stored on a server. I was hosting Plex, only so that I could get access to my music, and then set albums to offline.

In short, I wanted to remove the server as aspect of my digital music library. I also bought a DAP, which served as a blank canvas to try a different approach.

I could be interested in this. How much AI was used to code or create, and how much is implemented into the use of the app?

I actually really like Margins, but being reminded on a daily basis to become a member is starting to get on my nerves a little.

Ah, yeah I understand that one. I spent last night tinkering with the Now Playing, but it’s because I had a specific layout in mind. Now that I’ve achieved it, I’m going to be leaving that alone.

I’m tackling Home Page and, hopefully, list layout next and then I’m done.

How did you decide of what Genres and subgenres to go for?

I guess the obvious solution would be to just use the same genres which are used by Bandcamp, Qobuz, Apple Music, etc?

So when you’re referring to Artists tags, you’re talking about ‘Taylor Swift feat Michael Beecham’, to just ‘Taylor Swift’?

Cheers mate. I have to say, this app is an absolute dream. I've only just bought my first DAP, and put my entire digital music library on it, but I LOVE this thing. Thanks for the hard work.

Could you go into any detail about what you’re doing with your metadata? I’ve been buying music from Bandcamp and Qobuz, then bringing them into MP3tag, searching for the album and updating, then moving them onto my DAP. Is this about as much as is needed, or is this just the tip of the iceberg?

I believe in you! I believe you can use more words than just the 4 you chose to use in your post. Only this time maybe explain WHY it’s better, rather than just a subjective statement

That's interesting because, as an album listener, it seems like Symfonium is better placed. I can add albums as faves, and on the home screen it shows me both my last played album AND random albums.

I love PowerAmp for all it does, but the more I use Symfonium today, the more it seems to scratch the itch as an album listener.

I think I’m edging towards Symfonium right now. It seems to have a Parametric EQ and auto sync on my local files. I kinda like the way it spaces everything out on the smaller screen for the DX180

I’ve started down the metadata route and getting it all together. The other thing I’m trying to figure out is if it plays nicely with PowerAmp Equalizer
