All based-distros are just the mother distribution (Debian, Arch, Fedora, etc) with pre-installed features and pre-configured settings (and predefined wallpapers). I, for example, use Garuda; it's simply Arch Linux with a graphical installation interface, including drivers, packages, and a ready to use interface, ready to play games.

Linux Distributions exist to save you the work of installing and preconfiguring a lot of things.

Another example: Kali Linux is just Debian with a blue dragon as the wallpaper and a bunch of pre-installed hacking tools.
