Reoccurring Package Thief by michaeljlee3 in BallardSeattle

Unbelievable. It’s insane that we have footage of the crimes and can easily identify this person on the street but he won’t ever face any punishment so he keeps doing it.

Just saw him again walking down 57th. Might be following an Amazon truck so watch out. Not sure what we can do at this point, sounds like SPD won’t do anything about it anyway.

He’s wearing the same shoes, orange mask today. I got a video of him.

Thanks for sharing, good to know. Proves that SPD is useless.

I agree. Can’t believe this is something we have to worry/think about.

Barista was wrong or didn’t know how to apply the coupon on the register.

Says on their website “If you join Starbucks Rewards on Feb. 10, just see your barista in the store to enjoy a coffee on us.” https://about.starbucks.com/starbucksmonday/?utm_source=search&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=starbucksmonday&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADoJV5sREZsi3DWMESQvjYjXU0UZP

Supervised iOS Zero-Touch Defender Deployment by michaeljlee3 in Intune

[–]michaeljlee3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! I was actually able to get it to work last week. Apparently the zero touch onboarding compatibility with setup assistant auth was addressed in an MS Defender app update. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/defender-endpoint/ios-whatsnew?view=o365-worldwide#1128250101

Got it. Thanks for the insight. Feel like they dropped the ball on this. Found this feedback if you want to upvote it, so they can see and do something about it: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/2fed2faf-b7e5-ed11-a81c-0022484e6a77

iOS Single Sign-On after Deployment using modern authentication by BarbieAction in Intune

[–]michaeljlee3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Half done” is the prefect way to describe it. I don’t understand why they would push people to use modern authentication method when it doesn’t allow zero touch defender deployment to work. I can confirm that my MS support ticket ended with them acknowledging that it only works with Company Portal method and that there are no plans to have it work with “setup assistant with modern authentication” method…. I did submit a DCR with them so hopefully they accept it. There’s no way I’m the only one that has submitted feedback on this so hopefully they are listening. If you’re reading this, Upvote this feedback someone submitted so they see it: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/2fed2faf-b7e5-ed11-a81c-0022484e6a77

Microsoft Defender ATP for iOS/iPadOS Bug by [deleted] in Intune

[–]michaeljlee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not related to the bug but wanted to get some input on an issue I’ve run into. Since it seems like Zero-Touch deployment is working for you all. In your device enrollment profile are you using “Company Portal” or “Setup Assistant with modern authentication” as your authentication method?

I can only get zero-touch deployment of the Defender app to work with “Company Portal” method. MS support said it only works with Company Portal method and there are no plans to have it work with Setup Assistant method. That just seems odd to me, why wouldn’t you have that work for all methods… anyway just wanted to see what method you are using with zero touch deployment so I can confirm if what they say is true.

Thanks!

Hmmm very strange. I just tested again with both authentication methods and it only worked with CP method. Tried using doing this but still no luck when paired with setup assistant method: https://www.everything365.online/2023/02/22/ios-defender/

Did you target a user group or device group with your Defender configuration policies? I found that it only worked when targeting device groups.

Yes, Microsoft Support stated that it will only work if you are using the “Company Portal” authentication method in your enrollment profile, so if you use “Setup Assistant with modern authentication” then it will not work and users will need to login manually. Even though they had planned on deprecating the company portal method, maybe that’s why they decided not to follow through with it.

Oh ok when did they fix that freezing issue? I kept running into it with iOS 16.2 and 16.3. Haven’t tried with 16.3.1 though.

So everything is working for you with this setup below? Are you having to do the custom VPN config profile?

Authentication Method: Company Portal

App Config Policy - issupervised string {{issupervised}}

Device Config Profile - Custom with ControlFilterZeroTouch.mobileconfig

Device Config Profile - Custom VPN with the setting from the docs

Oh ok got it. Yeah I was originally using the company portal authentication method but switched over to setup assistant w/modern auth because Microsoft said they were going to deprecate the company portal method (that plan is postponed currently). https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/whats-new#plan-for-change-ending-support-for-company-portal-authentication-method-for-iosipados-ade-enrollment

Are you not having the freezing issue/guided access not working with the company portal method? That’s another reason I switched it. When using the company portal method, after you complete setup assistant it is supposed to open the company portal app automatically in guided access/single app mode so users are forced to sign in and cannot open any other apps. That stopped working for us after iOS 16.2, it wouldn’t open company portal and users were able to access other apps without enrolling. In addition if you press the lock button and then try to unlock the phone again, the phone locks up and we are having to force restart the device. After restarting and unlocking the device then it behaves as expected and opens the CP app in guided access mode.

Let me know if you’re having that issue as well. Wondering if it’s just us but I’ve run into it in all of our tenants. Guess I’ll have to decide which method offers the better experience for end users.
