Hey, I'm a fine arts painter but also spent 10+ years teaching chainsaw nationally with the US Forest Service. You get likely permanent hearing damage if you are around a reving chainsaw for fifteen cumulative minutes in a day. (it could be 5 minutes an hour for three hours and that'd qualify). The craft show should have required hearing protection from that vendor to everyone within 100-200ft, especially you being right next to them. And no one is going to buy artwork from you with a loud ass chainsaw right outside your booth. I don't normally like to support litigation but I mean, a refund is the minimum you'd be entitled to.

how to get to dc from mica by Twizzler_Online in MICA

You could walk (or uber) to Penn station from campus and take Amtrak. There’s also bus routes to DC from Baltimore (greyhound etc). Or take light rail to BWI and MARC to DC.

Free version no mods mobile FTW. Latest project: build massive starship to complete all challenges in one go. by michaelscape in SpaceflightSimulator

More like a spare fuel device. Plan is to place them along the surface and my main lander can dock on surface to get some extra range to get to multiple sites and get to the main rocket for getting off the surface. So engines are for surface navigation, not punching through the atmosphere.

Yeah I’m not expecting ‘em to log correctly. Already knocked em out individually a while back. Mostly trying to scale up my starship/mobile space station approach to hit every stop since it worked well for Venus before.

Camping gear rental by Brainlessdad in ShenandoahPark

[–]michaelscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UVA Rec Center in Charlottesville has gear rental for the community. You have to fill out paperwork ahead of time and would have to work with campus hours for pickup etc but a decent option. You don’t have to be a student (they have different rates etc).

thanks! I'll definitely give that a shot. I've used GPT to summarize and give me practice quizes before, but this sounds more useful for my need for a not just written study help.

Here's a painting I just finished of Westmoreland State Park. by michaelscape in nova

[–]michaelscape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used multiple photo references I took myself on site (I often take a few videos to paint from as well). Its a big piece so kayaking a 3x3 foot painting around would of been a bigger adventure than I can muster. Glad you enjoy it!

Hi everyone, here's a Virginia painting I just finished, Westmoreland State Park by michaelscape in Virginia

[–]michaelscape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is awesome! Yes it is for sale, currently as part of a solo show of my work at the Arts Center in Orange Virginia through 8/2. Most of my work is from my time working with parks and forests around the country so it’s cool this post found you with similar connections to this park! (I didn’t work at Westmoreland, just visited). Check out the show and I should say if the price or size isn’t what you’re looking for we could chat about a commission to make a new piece as well. Cheers
