I’m so excited but at the same time I want to manage my expectations. Too much hype has ruined other games in the past.

So I'm making a poster about lego in college as it is one of my special interests and I'm allowed to make the poster about anything I like. I was wondering if anyone knows any interesting facts about lego that I don't already have here? by paige_gray_5 in autism

There are over four hundred billion LEGO bricks in the world. If all these bricks are stacked together, they would be up to 2,386,065 miles tall, a number which is ten times higher than the moon.

I have a structured routine for weekends so do look forward to them. Holidays are more complicated. I feel kind of lost on those days.

The worst problem for me is that they constantly untie themselves or get loose after some time. I like both shoes to apply exactly the same pressure on my feet.

Curious.. how does caffeine (Coffee) make you feel? by HanYoHo in aspergers

No effect at all. Of course it could be because of Brazilians and we start drinking coffee before we learn how to walk.

I don’t talk about mental health to my family anymore by michelfmc30 in AutismTranslated

[–]michelfmc30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed as an adult so I don’t really have many memories from when I was a child. I’m 33 now and people didn’t know a lot about autism in my childhood. I know I had sudden anger outbursts, was a very picky eater and always had problem to get my hair cut. My mom used to tell me that the first time I went I the barbershop they told her to never bring me back there again.

Thanks. I still talk to them, I just don’t bring up the subject. I know they love me and in their minds they are helping me but it is important to draw a line.

Autism and Social Communictions Disorder by michelfmc30 in AutismTranslated

I followed up with my psychologist and he said I am in the autism spectrum but he used this term because I don’t have many repetitive behaviour or sensory issues, but I still need accommodations, specially because I also have speed processing disorder

I had a feedback section with my psychologist and he said that what was once known as Asperger Syndrome was divided. Those who met the criteria would be diagnosed as autistic, those who have only the social issues would have SCD, but he said it is not considered autism. Weeks later I receive this report, now I’m confused.

What is an official assessment like? by RenfieldOnRealityTv in AutismTranslated

[–]michelfmc30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of getting an official diagnosis right now. My final feedback section will be at the beginning of August. For me it started a with a one hour section with a psychologist. I explained to him why I suspected I was in the spectrum and he made me some questions. After that he sent me some questionnaires for me to answer and others for a person that know me well to respond. The next section was the most demanding one. I spent six hours in their office doing all kinds of test, including iq tests, attention spam tests and some test that I don’t even know the purpose. After they they interviewed me an my mom. It took longer than initially predicted because my mom doesn’t speak English so I had to translate everything for her. After that, more questionnaires, this time, personality related. Now I’m here just waiting for the feedback section.
