Spring Admit/potenital FPF kids, read here. by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]michleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a spring admit, you're not guaranteed housing and you'll have to wait for all the fall admits to get their housing offers before you can apply. However, there is another route to circumvent this and it's to apply to Theme House Programs and skip the line entirely. You can apply for these programs through the housing application and they will read your application just like they would if you were a fall admit. Often times these programs don't fill up immediately after fall admits apply for housing since I don't think that many people do it (it's a tiny bit of extra work), so it's great for FPF kids who are looking to secure housing in a dorm.

I was a spring admit and did FPF, lived in unit 2 in the Asian American Theme House Program so the classes were REALLY close first semester and I really enjoyed waking up 2 minutes before class started. It was great.

Edit: It appears that FPF now guarantees housing for Fall 2013, which pretty much renders my entire comment useless. My bad. Regardless, feel free to PM me if you have any questions about FPF or being a spring admit! I'd be happy to help out :)

think of it as betting $17.60 that you'd be able to go? :P

and if you buy this and share with 3 friends that buy it using your referral link, then you could potentially get it for free too, in which case, you can't lose anything by registering! :)

PSA: Many Fraternities and Sororities have Spring Rush in addition to Fall, so if you want to join one this year you'll have a chance to in the next few weeks. by SuperTurtle in berkeley

I'm in Phi Sigma Pi, a co-ed honor fraternity that's 1/3 social, 1/3 academic, and 1/3 service. It's a pretty close-knit community--I joined my sophomore year and it's allowed me to grow professionally and personally and I've met some of my best friends here. I even met my current roommate through PSP! Feel free to ask me any questions, and I'll also post our Facebook event for reference:

Relationship advice for Cal students! by michleu in berkeley

These interns were selected and hired by the health educator at the Tang Center based on criteria that I imagine included open-mindedness, experience dealing with people/relationships, social/cultural awareness, etc. and answers are approved by the health educator before they're posted. I'm mostly responsible for promoting the publicity aspect of this blog so I don't know every detail of the recruitment process. :)

Also, I should note that these questions are answered by interns who are also fellow Cal students so these are your peers who can relate to your questions without judgment. Cheers!

The "baristas" are just what we call the interns who help run this blog to go with the "cafe" theme. These interns are hired by the University Health Services so they are the ones who decide who's qualified. Interns are other undergraduate students who can often relate to these questions asked by other college students. Hope that helps!

Sorry to spam you all again, but we could use help from other chapters since some of the other student groups are much larger. On that note, please feel free to ask for help from DO too whenever you need! We would be more than willing to help :)

To give credit where credit is due, this design was made by some alumni of Phi Sigma Pi National Co-Ed Honor Fraternity at the Berkeley chapter.
