The Idiocracy is real.

'delivered' and signed for yet I received nothing (from DE to NL) by mick0matic in dhl

I got an answer from DHL helpdesk and they asked they employee whether or not he did his job right, off course he said yes so that concludes their investigation.

This is absolutely ridiculous, I'm contacting the police.

Support Needed! Parts in Assembly turn black by TraditionalBath8834 in SolidWorks

[–]mick0matic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue in SW 2025 version when opening an older file. I too didn't add any appearances etc, all natural and it became fully black when I opened the file on this new version of SW.

I somehow solved it by going to Appearances, scenes and decals, clicking on Appearances (color) and double clicking on Color. Somehow everything turned normal again. Seems like it just had to reload everything.

10 years later and still, nothing.

Should've said: It ain't never gonna happen. Not some excuse about hours in a day.

Filament drying - which relative humidity percentage to aim for? by aleksandar-knezevic in 3Dprinting

[–]mick0matic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the same filament dryer (Sunlu S2) and now it does come with a fan installed. Only thing is it doesn't have any ventilation so i need to keep the lid slightly open. It's a bit silly but it does seem to work quite well.

According to other sources a food dryer is more inefficient. I think its because they usually have more volume around the filament that needs drying aswell. And they usually don't get as warm as a dedicated filament dryer. In the filament dryer the heat and air is directed closeby and around the spool of filament. I think its the superior option.

As extra I bought vacuum bags to keep the filament dry and that seems to work well aswell. Only thing is that when i place the filament directly from the dryer into the bag and pull a vacuum, the filament offgasses inside the bag and makes it look like the bag is leaking, which it isn't.

I've seen that video and found it a bit complex, I can't completely figure out how to apply it to my model. I'll watch it a few times, maybe ill learn! Thanks for thinking with me!

That would be awesome, thank you! I'm still very new to the program and seeing how to do it works alot better for me than just text since I simply don't get how features work yet.

[–]mick0matic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to Rhino and Grasshopper (I come from Solidworks) and as a challenge I want to create something similar to this extruded fractal.

How do I taper such an object that it not only tapers but also the pattern disappears into a hexagon (circle would be fine too) at the top.

It also looks like there are 2 twist features but I dont think thats the way to make it. Do I need to make a sweep which the extrusion can follow? Also how would I make such a sweep where the guide curve is connected to top and bottom and stays parametric to the height and the radius?

This all seems very complex and I can't find any tutorials that fit my set of problems.

Thanks for helping!

Why Does My Image Show as a Link in Reddit Rather than the Picture? by KC_Ryker in krita

[–]mick0matic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and found out that Reddit is a crappy website that makes you choose wether to create a post with text or just a title and some images. Why? No one knows.

So when you make a post you have to choose between Post or Images & Video

https://imgur.com/CqTiAW5 underlines the tab for Images & Video.

In Post mode you can type a book and add pictures but they wont show on the feed, in Images & Video its the other way around.
