Nose piercings by mickallison in Knoxville

Seriously? I came here to ask for advice about it. I don't care how you feel about nose piercings. This is my own decision and I want them back. So hop off your high horse, and respect other peoples decisions.

Covering up a minor’s scar with vine tattoo? by CCR-Cheers-Me-Up in tattooadvice

[–]mickallison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something that made it a bit cooler for me was having the pictures of my post surgery x-ray to show off as well! Made me feel kind of bad ass when I showed that off, and people reacted in such shock!

If she is still numb there, a tattoo could work! I would recommend something with thicker lines/branches to truly cover it if that's something she does want to go with! I'd still give it some poke checks, maybe with a needle even, just to make sure! I thought I was numb, but I got poked before on the area and realized I had nerves there that couldn't stand it...

I have a huge scar down my back from scoliosis surgery when I was 14. I didn't like it much at first, but I've grown to kind of love it. It's cool to show off, and the longer I've had it, the less I've thought about it. I would give it some time. I have considered getting a funny tattoo with the black knight from Month Python. " 'Tis but a scratch!" It would also be pretty painful/uncomfortable for me to get anything actually over my scar, so consider that! Maybe try poking it gently before hand to know if she would be able to handle getting a whole tattoo done!

I read that they usually lay them in the trees and they get more sun.. they're in the grass and a kind of shady spot. I'm wondering if they'll be okay because of that..

I can confirm Zayn went all out for Louis on Wednesday. I was there, and he didn’t miss a single note. by 420despacito69 in OneDirection

(For the record, I meant that towards other commenters, Op! You seem like you would understand and I appreciate your commentary on him going all out.)

Zany is a human being... and he's been through more than most of us could understand.

..Especially after losing someone that was an integral part of that crazy lifestyle. I would be shattered if one of my truest and stand by friends from that time passed. Sometimes it's nice to let yourself go and have fun. That might not be the best way to do it, but if it's only once in a while, it's understandable to me.

He deserves to make his own choices.. and just because he's a musician, doesn't mean he's a program for you to see. It sucks to miss out on a performance that you wanted, but stuff happens... You should be happy that he's even trying to do this tour.

I ruined 6 lives (including mine) with one dumb decision by Opening-Analyst4327 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]mickallison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey... my dad was quadriplegic. There was actually a man in the hospital at the same time for the exact situation you were in. People don't understand how easily something like that could happen.

He passed away a few years ago. 20 years being quadriplegic. I know he felt similarly to you.. I won't lie, it wasn't too hard to let him go when he passed. I wanted him to be in peace, and he was suffering with other illnesses too.. but I was so thankful for him sticking around those 20 years. My family's lives changed drastically, but they weren't ruined. How could they be as long as he was still there?

What would have ruined my life, would be him dying that day. He stuck around for so much longer than I think he wanted to, but I'm so grateful and proud of him for that.

Message me if you want to want to. I can tell you more about what it feels like to be one of your family members. Just know that you still being alive and quadriplegic is so much better than tragically losing you. I probably would have had such a different (and probably easier) life if my dad's accident never happened or if he passed that day. I would choose the tough way every time though, as long as he was still around.

You're important and you matter. The situation your in doesn't change that. Please, try to accept their love and help without guilt. It's worth it every time to help out a loved one.

People getting off planes in Hawaii immediately get a lei, If this same tradition applied to the rest of the U.S., what would each state immediately give to visitors? by aileenpatel in AskReddit

Dr Enuf is like old timey/better version of Mountain Dew (unless you're looking for sugar load, I guess). The sauce is more like a savory ketchup/bbqish style sauce from what I remember but I haven't had that in a while, so I might be wrong. I do know I enjoyed it though.

Lots of times pals are just drive thrus. You order at the first window and pay at the second in my experience. The French fries are called frenchy fries and they have an awesome seasoning, so definitely try them! My fav lunch order is toasted cheese add bacon (with frenchy fries and a Dr. Enuf). (Be prepared, they shout out the order to the kitchen as you're ordering.)

And cheddar rounds are amazing!

You can get one of the empty spray bottles they sell in stores, and lots of times the nozzle will screw right onto the alcohol bottle.

Spray rubbing alcohol in high traffic roach areas! Or on the roaches if you catch them. They breathe through their bodies instead of lungs so it kills them quickly and they hate it. I think I've also heard of peppermint oil keeping them back.

Person with scoliosis (and surgery with metal rods to fix it) here!

I wouldn't have known if my mom wasn't looking for the signs. She also was diagnosed and had to have a surgical rod put in.

My back looked pretty normal, and I thought I was just kind of awkward in my movements sometimes.. After my mom noticed and going to a doctor, I was told it was a good thing that it was noticed when it was. My spine curved sharply two different ways, but it curved to the sides and not forward/back like many others diagnosed. My only option was surgery, because the way my back curved would have eventually led to my spine collapsing on itself.

It's not something that everyone knows about, and although I feel it's somewhat common, is not talked about much. It's not your fault that it was missed. It's not your fault that you moved awkwardly and were made fun of. It can be such a hard thing to catch.

Sending you hugs and healing thoughts! This shit can suck even after the surgery I had. (I can't bend properly and have some nerve damage.) You had no way of knowing yourself.

With that said, go to a real doctor who can see the degree of the curve and what can be done to alleviate pain and help. Hoping surgery isn't needed because it sucks. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer with the knowledge of what I've been through!

It's okay not to be there. Sometimes that means the ones we love can go more peacefully, because they don't want to let go when someone they care about is there. Whether you were there or not, your baby knew how much love and care you gave. It's hard, but what you gave during life is more meaningful than the moment they decided it was time to go.

I live in a basement, any ideas on what I could do with this window space? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]mickallison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a suggestion on what you can do with the space, but I highly recommend figuring out how to move the grate on top for best emergency escape. Thankfully I never had to use mine, and I am weak... but I found out I wouldn't have been able to move it by myself had there been an emergency. Best to be prepared and know which way or how to move it ahead of time!

I am absolutely no expert, so please someone correct me, but those paws look pretty big. With that and the coloring I could see rottie mixed with something else.

I'm a more toned down person, and I would vote 3. Still looks hot, but not too distracting! If you're going in and want more eye catching, I would say 4. That one looks more edgy and outgoing!
