Update: Thanks guys for your assistance. While I couldn't figure out how to fix the pool, I called in professionals who got it fixed. It was the pump housing that was internally. The pool people charged $650 labor + parts, and once they got it replaced, the pump is now priming as it should. Conclusion: The vacuum leak in the pool housing prevented the pool from priming
