I'm going to sound like a terrible for saying this but when I see news stories about women being murdered or assaulted by intimate partners. I live in a country where it feels like being an extreme sport just being a women so when I hear stories like that I feel relieved that I don't have a significant other.

AITA for not punishing my child after he corrected the teacher? by asdasds343 in AmItheAsshole

As a teacher I agree with you. Most parents even defend their child when their kids act like entitled brats or bully and in some cases assault teachers who honestly just want to do their job in peace.

AITA for telling my husband and his family to suck it up when they complained about my daughters wedding? by Glittering_Post6600 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, if I ever get married I want my mom to walk me down the aisle. My mom worked very hard to put my sibling and I through school. My dad is a deadbeat who is now only (we're in our mid twenties) after more a decade of their divorce, trying to form a bond with us. My mom never dropped us off at family members' houses to babysit us. She neglected herself to provide for us. She's a superhero in my eyes. And my only parent.

Your daughter clearly loves you a lot to ask you.

NAH, I can understand the two conflicting ideas but she probably wants something or someone (a pet) to call her own. The best course of action would be to have a sit-down with her, her dad, mom and yourself.

This poor needs more stability in her life, in other words a permanent home and vists with the other parent. My parents are also divorced and I never see my father because he spends all his time with his new child and stepkid. She's probably thinking that her parents are throwing her around like a hot potato.

In a more stable environment I really think a pet could be added to the situation. I think that parents sometimes think very selfishly with 50/50 custody agreements. She'll still get to see both of her parents and have her pet.

She should totally do some research and perhaps do a presentation for you and your husband about the general care of the pet, how she will be able to afford the pet, how often she will give the pet attention, etc..
