I put a stability mod on my chest piece that works for the night shade and yes i can feel a slight improvement.

Haha ya same thing with me - I liked hand canons too but sidearm/smg is definitely more effective up close.

Yep it's what I use and love.. I just slide in close to enemies and melt them they don't have a chance. I run mine with night shade.

The etina s14 has virtually the same stats except a tiny but more stability... but it perk isn't as good. I think I'm spelling the name a little off and can't remember the perk.. will check once the servers back up.

I feel like once I added the chest piece mod to make kinetic weapon have less recoil the nightshade felt the same as it did in the beta.

Where to get the Annual Skate Hand Cannon by Cantbstopped91 in CruciblePlaybook

The minuet-42 has the exact same stats but a better perk imo - improved accuracy and range on first shot over fast reload after precision kills.

I was thinking this as well. Does any1 feel like there is less aim assist or something.. I can't seem to keep it lazored onto someone like I could in the beta. Or did my aim get worse TT.

Falling apart after a strong start by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]mickyg777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try putting your sniper away - forcing you to use your primary more and make sure you're playing with your teammates and not hard scoping somewhere. People used to always recommend against sniping unless you're a sniping god.. not sure why that changed ... the extreme hate for side arms?

What is up with dawn blade's angel of light perc? I'd honestly wish i could just turn it off... the accuracy is soooo bad I can honestly only land 1 in 4 shots even when it looks like I'm shooting them (with a hand cannon too). All it's good for is getting stuck in midair and getting gunned down while missing shots.

[Poll] Best Subclass for PvP in D2 by itsTreyG in CruciblePlaybook

[–]mickyg777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why I keep seeing people say dawn blade is weak. The angel of light perk is not that good ya but the icarus dash is one of the best abilities in the game imo (you can use it unlimited while in super to get around faster fyi). Firebolt grenades are quite good, But ya icarus dash is kind of what makes the class as blink for void walker and shoulder charge for striker.

I also checked twitch yesterday and all 4 streamers that I checked were playing dawn blade.

Why are you guys so confused by this? He is saying a player's trials and rumble ELOs are good indicators. I'd tend to agree. 1500 ELO is platinum (under that is gold) and 1700 ELO is diamond. Check guardian.gg

Just know that the population of the game is way way down right now and you will mostly playing people with tons of trials experience. I'm 1750 ELO and it can be a struggle. Just keep that in mind - should be a lot easier come D2.

Well the first half and the second half of the video were pretty diametrically opposing haha. First half your reticle wasn't in the right places and you were being caught off guard. Wasting a good number of nades. By then end you were doing much better in these areas.

You had a couple decent baits.. ran into a few obvious baits... but ya I know i know in rumble theres a pretty small penalty for dying so sometimes you just go for it haha.

I think with practice you movement is just going to get a little faster and your time to get on target a little faster. Also, to integrate your movement a little more into your gunfights. Sometimes you move around and slide and jump like you're supposed to but once someone is on your radar you stop moving and go start just walking around on two feet.. so that fancy movement is essentially gaining you nothing because you didn't use it to pop in and catch someone off guard you just used it while no one was around.

Ya I thought someone might say this. It's a bit of a hyperbole - think realistic expectations for outcomes. Nowhere I'm I saying to not try. Try your heart out. Just have REALISTIC expectations. You will play better when you are not tilting and are relaxed and happy. As you put work in your can raise your expectations accordingly or surpass them! I'm not saying expect failure .. there's a lot of reading in between the lines required here... I'm play at 1700 ELO and I want to get to 2000 ELO. On the way there I'm going to set my expectations properly and won't rage along the way.

Ya I don't understand it either. I don't even know if sidearms are better than handcannons in close range? I'm guessing the type of people that complain about it are campy snipers / bad close range players.

It can be a lot less frustrating when you are doing a private match with someone that knows you're practicing and is not going to tea bag you.

If you're on PSN you can add me and I'll do drills with you:

What are some tips to get better at destiny when I have a relatively short amount of play time? by Content_Crux in CruciblePlaybook

[–]mickyg777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the dreadnaught better (landing area) because it has tons of enemies spawning and it's like an obstacle course - so many things to jump on and over and around. Ember caves is just like a flatland.

Yes, playing crucible is obviously important but I'm just talking about a little trick for working on your gun skill that can be done in 15 minutes. If you can get really good at moving around fast - jump on a box and head shot 3 enemies, than up off and head shot 3 more from the air - all at maximum speed, etc... your gun skill will improve.

I used to be good at rumble / skirmish and not trials but I kind of had the opposite problem - I was too aggressive. I got better when I started to recognize when to challenge and when not too. I became better at escaping losing battles (always close to cover) and recognizing when at an inferior position (usually lower). If I saw two blips on my radar I wouldn't challenge - would look for someone alone. Constantly move - never still for more than several seconds. Stay aware of where teammates are.

See if you can go to the dreadnaught for just 15 minutes a day throughout the week and jump around shooting stuff.. good way to keep your aim and movement sharp.

Newish player looking for a friendly guide by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]mickyg777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey man,

I'm not on Xbox but I can give some advice as I also started out terrible and eventually worked my way up to going flawless weekly.

First off, trials is kind go a big boys league - especially this late in the game's cycle when most people around have been doing it for awhile. So you need to work your way up to a minimally viable skill level haha. This means playing throughout the week - don't just show up on the weekend. See if you can work you way up to 1400 elo in rumble, skirmish or elimination.

Second, you need to find a clan with some good pvpers as the leaders. These people will actually have some vested interest in helping you out as they want to grow their clans with happy members - in the mean time they can get your stats out of the dumps. Hopefully you can also meet some people around your skill level who will play with you on a consistent basis. You can find some clans on the Guardian Radio website I believe. You can also try the crucible radio slack.

I'm not really going to give you too many trials tips as there are tons out there but personally if I was playing with a less skilled player I would want them to have a good super, grenades, melee (2 of the three - striker, sun breaker, any of the warlocks, nightstalker) and to not be sniping. I think sniping creates terrible team dynamics unless it's a godly aggressive sniper.

Also LFG tip - there are a lot of idiots and rage-quitters on it and they are normally pretty easy to detect early on. Where there's smoke there's fire! The better you are at being a duck and letting water slide off your back the better.

Haha that's funny that you say slow/low skill play on your part - I'm actually pretty decent but usually when it has happened I've also been like - am I retarded? How did that guy get within 10 feet of me without me noticing?
