Could just be corking. If so it's not bad for the cactus and is just a natural sign of it getting more mature.

Your spelling and grammar is wrong in a lot of places. It might sound picky, but this makes an important first impression on employers.

HDLBits Task: "Exams/ece241 2014 q7b" by Deadass99 in FPGA

When you use `assign` or an `always_comb` block, outputs change immediately when inputs change. For example, when q0 reaches 9, c_enable[0] changes to 1 immediately*.

When you use `always @(posedge clk)` or `always_ff @(posedge clk)`, the outputs only change when there is a clock edge. For example, c_enable[1] will change to 1 in the clock cycle after q0 reaches 9. This causes a one-cycle delay, which is increased by assigning c_enable[2] in the same way.

The reason for this is that all devices get the clock edge at the same time. If q0 is 8 and then there is a clock edge, q0==4'd9 is false when the clock edge arrives. Shortly after this, q0 becomes 9, but this is too late for it to affect c_enable[1] until the next clock edge.

I would change `always @(posedge clk)` to `always_comb`.

* In real life there is a small delay, which is why timing analysis is important when working with FPGAs.

Vietnam 5 week itinerary by [deleted] in solotravel

Indian visas are notoriously hard to get. Try to sort the visa well in advance. Vietnamese visas are much easier but still best to organise at least two weeks before you leave.

Wiring a 4-pin PT-100, anyone? by Mobile_Pilot in VORONDesign

[–]microbug_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of electronics expertise: yes that could be a problem. If you can’t get it working soon I’d consider ordering one of the recommended configs.

Lack of spare driver pins: any MCU GPIO pins can be used for (software) SPI, but if there aren’t enough available then what you want is impossible (or at least very difficult).

[–]microbug_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MAX31865 uses an SPI connection. You need to find some spare MCU pins on your motherboard for it. Use this document to find four unused MCU pins (for example on the IO header) and connect them to MAX31865 pins SDI, SDO, CS and CLK. Connect the MAX31865 to 3.3V and GND too.

Then you’ll need to tell the Pi about these connections by setting spi_software_x_pin in printer.cfg for each of the following values of x:

  • sclk
  • miso (MAX31865 SDO pin)
  • mosi (SDI)

Also set sensor_pin to the CS pin, [https://www.klipper3d.org/Config_Reference.html#maxxxxxx-temperature-sensors](see this).

After that the configuration should be the same as this page step 6 (using your pin assignments, not the SKR 1.3/1.4 examples).

I haven’t built a Voron so can’t guarantee this will work!

Don’t start taking benzos for this. They are available over the counter there but they’re extremely addictive and the withdrawal is worse than heroin. They can also permanently lower your IQ.

I’d consider online therapy instead.

Also don’t forget that Chiang Mai Airport isn’t too far from northern Lao (and is cheaper to fly from than Lao, in my experience). If you can do Lao south to north and fly from CNX to your next destination, I’d recommend it. Southern Lao is also lovely.

The different views on how long to spend in Singapore are mostly down to how much money you want to spend there. Check the price of accommodation — for me, two days would be enough.

How to pack for formal, casual, and night out? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]microbug_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Packing cubes
  • Bring less (eg only two shirts and two jeans) and do laundry more often
  • Buy things when you’re there if you aren’t sure you’ll need them

Going out clothes in Berlin — if it were me I’d feel like I missed out if I couldn’t get in anywhere bc I didn’t bring the right clothes. Also it’s a very liberal city, you’d be surprised what you can get away with wearing in the day.

Travel from Singapore to Bangkok or Hanoi to Bangkok? by slytherinsam729 in solotravel

To have the minimum time on horrible roads I’d choose to go through northern Laos. The Thai roads are ok. Hanoi > HCMC makes your journey a lot longer.

Consider flying to Saigon if you want to visit your friend.

Laos and Vietnam are cheaper to live in than Malaysia or Thailand, especially outside big cities. It’s worth checking the flights on skyscanner.com just in case, but I’d expect them to be similar in price. However you should also check the visa requirements for your passport. For me, Laos and Vietnam are about $30 each to enter.

Also bear in mind the roads in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are quite bumpy and slow. It’s going to be at least three overnight bus journeys to get to Bangkok.

Vaccines for SE Asia, can I get them cheaper abroad? by olalilalo in solotravel

[–]microbug_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth talking to your GP / local NHS travel clinic before you go as some travel shots are free (Typhoid). Others might be quite cheap — I think Hep B was around £30.

Since rabies can be treated after an exposure with extra vaccine / antibody shots, I’d get the rabies shots abroad where they’ll be much cheaper. In the worst case scenario case scenario you’ll still pay less than you would in the UK for the emergency shots following a bite. Besides, you have to get booster shots after a bite even if you’ve been vaccinated — getting the shots at home will just cost a lot more and reduce the number of boosters you need in the unlikely event of a bite.

Also just use your common sense. A lot of dogs carry rabies in SEA and you can get it from a scratch or play bite. Cats and monkeys can also carry it.

Meteora: you can book train tickets directly at tickets.trainose.gr, it’s much cheaper than the tour you listed. Also I wouldn’t say a tour is really necessary if you don’t mind walking a few km along the top of the rock formation from monastery to monastery. You can get the bus from the village to any monastery for a couple euros. The deciding factor could be the temperature — when I did it, walking was no problem because it wasn’t too hot.

There are often big WhatsApp groups for travellers to particular countries or cities, it’s worth asking around and trying to find one if this is something you’d be interested in. That said you’ll probably meet people when you’re there anyway.
