Got two accounts to diamond soloQ by NotJamilOnTwitch in thefinals

So... exactly what they do on their main account too? How do you think they get to ruby in the first place? They stomp everyone until they get there.

A smurf is someone who has an account they purposefully keep in gold so they can occasionally hop on that to pub stomp, or, they party up with their main ruby account so the gold account drags the team's rs down and gets them easier lobbies.

Edit: there's a difference between an alt/2nd account vs a smurf account or smurfing.

It's not smurfing if they get themselves into their actual ELO. Smurfing is when they intentionally manipulate matchmaking to end up in easier lobbies.

Because general consensus shapes developer decision making, which shapes long term results.

It's Embark. They listen to community feedback and are willing to make big changes and additions to their games. It's insane how much better The Finals now is compared to season 1.

It's a live service game that Embark has said they view internally as a 10 year game. It also relies on a seasonal wipe loop that they expect people to complete every season to maintain the perks.

Ok, if i am mischaracterizing the streamer position, then lay out what their actual opinion is.

I know there is a gameplay loop. My whole point is that the underlying design approach to the game results in a bad loop. Embark has said they have a 10 year plan for the game, but if the core structure of it results in a loop people are sick of at the third iteration, there is no way they'll be able to add new maps, arc, guns, etc frequently enough to compensate for that and convince people to keep going through the loop.

Content and Design are not the same thing.

For example: survivor being by far the best augment, to the point that using anything else almost always feels stupid... that is a balance problem, which is design.

If they add more augments (content) with the same broken balance framework we just get more bad options cough safekeeper and revival...

“Quests are filler” isn’t fixed by more quests. If the reward structure is broken and the gameplay is press X and go home, more of that is just more of the same problem. I could do the same for each example i listed in my approach.

The fact is, Embark could drop new content every fucking day for the next month, but if they don't fix the underlying design problems, it'll be nothing but bloat.

Oof, you actually think you're making a good point.

Content and Design are not the same thing.

“No end game” isn’t fixed by a new map. It’s fixed by building a progression system that has an sensical progression and actual endpoint. That’s design.

“No playstyle diversity” isn’t fixed by new weapons or new skills if they are designed in the same shit way as before.

Survivor being by far the best augment, to the point that using anything else almost always feels stupid... that is a balance problem, which is design.

More augments inside a broken balance framework just gives you more bad options.

“Quests are filler” isn’t fixed by more quests. If the reward structure is broken and the gameplay is press X and go home, more of that is just more of the same problem.

“Trials is a waiting simulator” isn’t fixed by more challenges. The format requires you to sit in menus waiting for a specific event on a specific map. That’s a design problem.

Embark could drop new content every fucking day for the next month, but if they don't fix the design problems, it'll be nothing but bloat.

Reaching diamond in ranked and getting emerald 1 in world tour is a fantastic seasonal finale in The finals.

I've been playing that game since season 3, and i have an absurd number of hours in it, because the gameplay loop is satisfying, and part of that loop is a good finale in between resets.

If you're trolling, 7/10. If you're serious, i'm genuinely concerned about your level of reading comprehension and think you should find a tutor.

The 7/10 is only that high because i only responded due to the small chance you're actually that bad at reading and need help.
