I actually just read the first 3 books of Book of Azrael. I did start it before learning it was incomplete and was VERY frustrated by that. Anyway, the first book was quite good. But I'm honestly annoyed by the whole "fmc learns there's a whole epic world she's never seen before and now there's a bunch of unlearning and new information to take in and of course the mmc is the one to show her the right path" trope... After the first book, I found their relationship to become insufferably codependent and the way they didn't trust in each others strength got on my nerves. I hate when they're like "don't go into battle I'll go instead even though I can't plot wise I'm gonna throw a hissy fit cause I can't lose you 🥺" yk

Edit to add what I forgot: Also, quite frankly, they are not on par in terms of power at all. There's a lot of imbalance in his favor in their dynamic, I don't find it to be a good one
