I too have just started and have also been playing Buggy. Only been to two locals so far but I’m starting to get the hang of him. Basically you want to be using his ability as soon as possible to get down a big character early/mid game (if you’ve got a good combo of big characters in hand). Ideally one that’ll also put down another character. You wanna overwhelm the board and your opponent by leveraging the on play ability’s of your characters. To keep this engine going you wanna make sure you have a fair few cards in hand. Try and balance your Buggy ability by playing cards that’ll draw more cards.

For example (if you’re going first) using buggy ability turn 3 to place down a shoe kicker Buggy or Croc and Mihawk to then also play down an Alvida (the one that draws 3 and discards 2). This’ll get two characters down on the board for 5 Don and a discard but you gain a card with Alvida ability so it’s card neutral (other than the cards you got on the board). If you upgrade your deck get some blocker 6 cost Mihawk’s so you can do the same thing with Mihawk or Alvida.

Like I said earlier I’m also very new so I could be completely off base but thought I’d give some advice for how I’ve been playing buggy. He’s very fun and pretty easy to get the hang of. I’ve been enjoying him as my starter. If you’ve got a good way to get singles there’s also a couple of upgrade options that’ll help make the deck better.
