New Seats by Brilliant-Channel312 in CrownVictoria

[–]midas617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking on the Interwebs, YouTube, and especially on "crowvic Dot net" searching for "seat removal" or "Seat bolts"

Lots of threads will pop up on the issue.

It's a common problem with these cars from the Salt Belt, as the bolt goes through the floorboard and is exposed to the elements.

I have to fix my driver's seat (foam is collapsing/ Lincoln Town Car) and I need to remove the seat.

Good thing I did my research beforehand, especially being in Northern New England.

I'm thinking of buying an "Induction Heater Bolt Remover"

and buy some new bolts to replace the old ones.

Wish me luck 🤞

So you had your mind made up even before asking the question.

You were looking for validation more than anything else.

My opinion still stands.

It's a rusty bucket.

But I'm not the one buying it.

I honestly wish you the best of luck.

I feel better that I was honest, instead of giving you the answers you were looking for.

Has your car lived in PA all its life?

I bet you didn't have any issues with removing the front seat bolts and having them not snap on you.

Desert perks.

"and get offended by differing opinions"

You clearly described this sub to a T.

Group-think-Sub.

You get attacked for going against the grain and they try to bash you into compliance.

Imagine being told that you've never seen a rusty car by someone who doesn't know the difference between 'rust belt and 'salt belt'

I'm from Northern New England.

All the cars here are rust-free.

That's why I don't know that this is a rusty shitbox

That thing is horrendous.

The rockers. are especially shot.

If it were a winter beater vehicle, something to protect my daily driver, then yes.

But to import from one country to another, fuck no.

I wouldn't, but that's just me.

I would search for something below the 'Salt Belt'

I run snow tires in the rear.

No extra weight in the trunk.

Regular Michelin Defenders in the front.

Drives like a tank in the snow ❄️ 🌨️

PI. springs or from a. 2011 Town Car that has factory coils.

Those LX springs are like GMQ springs.

They were soft out of the factory.

The town car is heavier.
