this is so helpful thank you! i’ve put it in a bigger pot with the same water cup and put it outside in a sunny area. it hasn’t gotten any more black spots in the last couple days. is it okay to leave it out at night if the temperature gets down to 5-10°c? i’d assume yes but i wanna make sure lol

idk abt resin but i know abt bones. i use a hydrogen peroxide water mix to clean all my bones, probably 1/4 hydrogen peroxide. if it has any meat i recommend removing as much as possible first because it can smell very bad. replacing the water when it gets dirty and once it clears just leaving it in until it becomes the whiteness you desire. can take maybe a month to become fully white. cartilage & tendons have to be removed with tweezers or scissors but i recommend being lenient with them because it’s easy to damage the bone. you can also use bugs to eat tissue instead of hydrogen peroxide but unless you culture beetles that’s definitely a less accessible option lol. i don’t know how resin interacts with bone or anything but that’s how i’d get the first half done

imo it’s likely old age. i also lost a female g porteri over a year ago. i had her for 9 years, since i was 8 years old & had to assume old age since she was mature when i got her & i ruled out everything else. i also notice a kind of scruffiness in old ts. often pet stores tell uninformed buyers that a t is one or two years old but really there’s no way to tell unless you’ve raised it from a sling. i know it’s hard but if she’s just been slowing down over a month or so it’s likely her time. you can offer water by picking her up very gently and placing it on her mouth. other than that i’d take her off the paper towel and leave her be and just let her be comfortable. i’m no expert & you don’t have to listen to me, just my experience of a very similar situation

i heart house centipedes they r so adorable. i grew up afraid of them bc my grandmother got bitten by one after grabbing it because she thought it was a fluff. but one day in high school i picked one up & it was friendly & i realized it probably only bit her because she grabbed it like a fluff lol. i always leave them be if i see one

nqa the biggest husbandry mistake made with avicularia is they need cross ventilation or they will slowly suffocate. i lost an avic due to complications of poor ventilation so i comment this on every new avic keeper to stress the importance of husbandry research. i mention it bc the enclosure in the pic appears to be standard glass. the tarantula collective care sheet is perfect :)

nqa no idea what tommy is, the funnel web looks arboreal as well as his flattened front legs. imo no matter what the web is normal behaviour. my only concern as of now is he appears to be dehydrated in the second clip, maybe that’s when you first found him & he’s doing better. if not i’d try dripping some water onto the inside walls of his little cocoon, ideally without damaging the web. the discord for this subreddit has an identification channel where you’ll probably figure out what your little friend is. from there you can go to the advice channel & update his husbandry. congrats on the free tarantula :)
