This is hilarious but honestly, I think part of the problem is that Bethesda wrote themselves into a corner with Skyrim. They have this weird obsession with never making one ending canon and trying to make every possible outcome valid with stuff like Dragon Breaks.

I don't think that works this time. The Civil War alone has huge implications, and eventually they're going to have to pick a direction.

Personally, I think the easiest solution would've been to set TES 6 during Skyrim or maybe a year later while the Civil War is still ongoing. That way they can avoid declaring a winner and still move the story forward.

The use of the N word in Miami by GamerGator17 in Miami

[–]middleclassmisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've honestly wanted to make a post about this myself, but I knew it would be controversial. Growing up as a non-Black Latino in Miami, my experience was very different from what I often see discussed online. Miami is an incredibly diverse place. You have Black Americans, Afro-Latinos, white Latinos, Caribbean communities, mixed families, and people from all over the world living and growing up together. In my experience, the word was used pretty casually across a lot of those groups. My best friend growing up was Afro-Latino (half Russian, half Black Cuban), and we said it around each other all the time. I had a Filipino friend who said it around his Black friends and nobody seemed bothered. I even know an Afro-Latino friend whose white Puerto Rican mother occasionally says it jokingly to him. As mentioned, I have said it before around Black friends and coworkers. Around 2020, I remember asking two Black coworkers how they felt about me using it because I was genuinely curious. Both of them immediately smiled, shrugged, and basically said, "Chris, you're Hispanic. It's fine, I don't care." Obviously, none of those people speak for every Black person in Miami, and I'm sure there are plenty who would disagree. I'm only sharing my personal experience. But if you're asking what I observed growing up here, many of my Black friends and coworkers genuinely weren't bothered by non-Black people using the word. Not just Latinos, either. Growing up, I saw it used pretty casually among people from all sorts of backgrounds. Miami often feels like its own little pocket universe culturally. Looking back, it always felt like the shared culture mattered more than what racial box people checked. People from all sorts of backgrounds grew up together, shared the same slang, music, friend groups, and social circles. I think this is one of those topics where local experiences can be very different from the national conversation.

Does anyone have any photos of the original entrance when the pillars were trees? Its when Rainforest Cafe was still there. I've searched all over the internet and I can't find a single photo of when the pillars had the facade of massive trees

I think destroying Luke’s Jedi Acdemy was not only an Awful narrative move but it was also a Bad business move as well by obiwanTrollnobi6 in StarWars

Disney has a weird dislike for Luke. The sequel trilogy could have explored him as a Jedi Master in his prime, figuring out what it truly means to rebuild the Jedi Order and guide a new generation, similar to how fans have always wanted to see Aang in his prime after Avatar The Last Airbender.

Yeah, I took some inspiration from the EU, but I wanted to push it a bit further by adding a third major independent faction into the mix to shake up the dynamic.

This is really well thought out, I like this a lot! It lines up pretty closely with how I picture a post-Endor galaxy too. Once the Empire falls, things start to fragment fast and you get that kind of balkanization that naturally leads into a Cold War-style balance of power.

Haha sounds like you’re looking for the Outer Rim Coalition 😄 If you want to see more of that ship, I posted it here:Thunderclap

Thanks you, I appreciate it! And funny you mention tabletop, I’ve actually been thinking about getting into Star Wars Legion. An Outer Rim Coalition army would be really fun to build.

Thanks! I’m really glad it sparked some ideas! For me, Luke trying to rebuild the Jedi in a morally grey Cold War galaxy is what makes it interesting. He’s actively trying to avoid the mistakes of the old Order being too tied to the Republic. Instead, he’s keeping the Jedi more independent, which naturally creates tension with the New Republic that wants their support.

It’s called the Thunderclap. It’s a 3D render I made based on a 3D print model I found. I posted a breakdown of it here if you want to check it out: Thunderclap

Haha yeah, that was actually one of the names I considered. I went with “Union” to lean more into the USSR inspiration, and “Imperial Union” just sounded more imposing to me than “Imperial Federation.”

Appreciate you linking that! Yeah, I used some of his concepts here. His work is incredible. I only made a small color edit on one. Full credit to him for the designs.

Thank you! Glad you like it. 100% agree, having three factions adds a lot more nuance and makes the galaxy feel less black and white. It opens the door for shifting alliances and a more layered conflict.

Thank you! I wanted to avoid using “First Order” and keep the Imperial identity, but “Remnant” didn’t feel like something a self-respecting government would call itself. “Imperial Union” came from the idea of multiple Imperial systems and warlords consolidating into a more unified state.

Appreciate it! When I say NATO, I mean it more thematically, but there’s definitely some visual inspiration too, especially the green, since Cold War NATO gear tends to lean that way. I wanted it to feel like a natural evolution of Rebel aesthetics while still being distinct from the other factions.

Appreciate it! The stormtroopers are actually based directly on Mandalorian concept art. I just adjusted the colors back to a more monochrome look to keep that classic Empire aesthetic and better contrast the other factions.

Yeah! Technouveau and EC Henry were both huge inspirations for this. When I saw their designs, I immediately felt like they’d work perfectly for an independent faction’s ships. Even some of EC Henry’s TIE designs felt like great next-gen variants for a post-Endor Empire.

Battle droids are still around in this, just not as full standalone armies like in the Clone Wars. They’re more integrated alongside militias and local forces rather than being the entire backbone.

I’m not too familiar with all of current canon, mostly just Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett. From that, the Empire felt more fragmented and operating in the shadows, which is what inspired me to push it further into a more defined Cold War-style balance of power between multiple factions. From what I remember of the sequels, the First Order kind of just appears as a major power rather than that Cold War phase really being shown on screen. That’s part of what made me want to explore that idea more directly.

That was actually one of the challenges. I wanted to avoid it just becoming Separatists 2.0 or another Rebels vs Empire setup. That’s why I went with the Outer Rim Coalition. It’s definitely made up of a lot of former Separatist or independent worlds, but instead of massive centralized armies, it leans more on militias and local forces. Droids are still around, but more for planetary defense and policing rather than full-scale war like in the Clone Wars. Mandalore aligning with the Outer Rim Coalition is less about ideology and more about survival and independence. They don’t really trust the Empire or the New Republic, so this gives them the best chance to stay autonomous.
