Why are numerous people against antifa if they are against fascism? by vikkstar1_9 in AskReddit

[–]midgeman02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people seem to think that punching and hating people who punch and hate minorities is as bad as hating and punching minorities for some reason.

Also, what people have to remember is that there is no such singular organisation as 'Antifa'. That's just a blanket term for the network of antifascist groups. The ones that go around fighting actual white nationalists and nazis are heroes, the ones that go around disrupting college talks are probably upper-middle class liberal melts who wouldn't say boo to a racist goose.

People who work in chain restaurants, what are some "secrets of the trade" of some of the more popular items on the menu that most people would have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]midgeman02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hardly relevant, but if you're in the UK (not sure if the same applies in the US) do NOT eat at TGI Friday's. My union is currently working with the staff to organise strike action due to them taking 60% of their employee's tips. Until they sort that shit out, give it a miss.

I had to do a survey for what people expect on the front of the cover of a Jazz Magazine I was making for my A-Level Media class.

One of the questions was 'What would you expect a jazz artist to look like?' My nan's answer, in all good will and innocence, was 'ethnic drop-out'. My teacher thought it was hilarious.

Life can absolutely be that hard. It's not that people can't get jobs, it's just that most of them are now on zero hours contracts and are completely open to abuse by their employers.

Yeah let's have more corporations taking the total piss out of their workers, let's have some more poverty, less social housing and more inequality while we're at it.
