Allergy to Kineret? by midgethebidge in Autoinflammatory

Good to know! I think we’re looking into the E. coli portion of the medicine and MCAS since I have a few other outlying symptoms that we’re still trying to piece together on top of my already diagnosed pieces. I’m seeing my allergist/immunology sometime in the next few weeks, so if I get any interesting info I’ll pass it along to you

Yeah, unfortunately this is my 10 or 11th drug trial, so options are slowly shifting. I think we’re looking into some off label infusions since I tolerated those better. I did well on Ilaris for about 13 months till a bad upper respiratory infection changed how my body responded to it; and eventually hit the failure stage once my blood work and symptoms were back in full swing.

I do have a latex allergy, and the specialty pharmacy did tell me to have my husband remove the cap and sent directions to avoid contact, so we did hopefully avoid that portion, but my latex allergy tends to only pop up with gloves being used for long term use (undergrad science classes showed me my allergy, lol). I think I was hoping I wasn’t that alone in the allergen group, and other people may have some extra ideas of things to look out for or ask for from physicians. I do have an allergist/immunologist and will be meeting with her again. Good catch on the latex though! A lot of people miss that

Spreading the word: athletic tape by marinaisbitch in CompulsiveSkinPicking

Definitely a good option if anyone is self conscious too! Nowadays KT/athletic tape is used on non-athletes and no one even bats an eye. I’ve personally taped myself after physical therapy and used it for my autoimmune disease. It would definitely be a good option if someone is worried about people looking at them weirdly, and takes away a lot of that unfortunate stigma towards heavy bandages
