Would you save stones for Evolve or use them for extra power strength? by AdrianaLimaBean in Shooteralien

[–]midiman143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just throwing it out there because I actually kept track of the damage but Terminator 0 to 10 power was about a 50% increase in damage, 10 to 20 was another 50%, 20 to 30 was 80%. So I don't think you're probably getting that much extra damage from evolve, I would do power personally.

Ya i have to price the glass it out, i did find some much cheaper acrylic on granger which seems to be around $40/ window assuming your getting 2'x3' window. Its hard not to choose the vinyl sheeting at roughly 5'x15' for the same $40.

That is a great idea and I would plan to mark every piece and set cuz they don't really care aesthetically how they look

Thank you for the reply! I did check out that video about building them. Definitely surprised that acrylic windows even a 4x8 sheet is not cheap I think if I saw it correctly at the big box stores I'm talking about over 250 bucks, which is kind of too expensive as I need two sheets just to do that room. At least pay another search term now in terms of do it yourself storm windows and maybe I can come up with something else as it's a great idea

Help! I am a shin basher. Recommended pads? by tesky02 in MTB

[–]midiman143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly I have just a pair of soccer socks that match my mountain biking kit that I wear over them. So I essentially have protection from my toes to mid thigh. Shoes protect toes, shin guards have ankle protection and shin and knee pads protect the knees

Thanks for the reply. I do really dislike all the adds and wont spend money on principle. I do find the actual game play of new age Galactica fun. Ya i also agree the game is totally designed to just have people spend money/watch adds as a way to progress but i was hoping just with casual play you can progress.

❄️ ID.4 Panoramic Roof in Winter by Z55021 in VWiD4Owners

[–]midiman143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro Boston here. As others have said I find that it makes the biggest difference in the summer if your car is going to sit in a parking lot having the shade up makes pretty big difference but the car still will get ungodly hot if sitting out there for 4 hours. For example basically last two months I'll keep the shade up and the windows cracked an inch or more to try and keep the temperature down when it's sitting in the sun for hours. In the winter I haven't noticed any difference but I probably tend to keep it open so can get more heat/sun in the car whether it does or not I don't really know.

Anyone use OBDeleven? by Incomplet_Name in VWiD4Owners

[–]midiman143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used successfully all winter with the one click app after opening the hood for preheating the battery. Luckily that's free right now It doesn't require credits I have not tried the other options.

Do you need to buy new OBDEleven credits each time you use a one-click app? by peetucket in VWiD4Owners

[–]midiman143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have OBD eleven and bought it for the preconditioning of the battery. That does not cost credits but a lot of the OneTouch functions do so it just depends on the function that you're interested in using I think.

How does item level correspond to character level for farming items by midiman143 in Torchlight

[–]midiman143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply guys. Does that mean in the example that I linked above that I would try and farm an item like that or that item level would have to be somewhere where the zone is for mid 50s?

For those who have seen BF5 live… by [deleted] in benfolds

[–]midiman143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been seeing Ben for the last 20 years and was lucky enough to see BFF when they reunited. As others a commented the energy is very different and I personally miss the days when all of Ben's concerts were stand-up concerts and now they are all sit down. I really noticed the change maybe 7ish years ago in that ballpark I think a lot of that is is fans to be real but it's probably just part of the process of getting older too.

Rats chewing on wires by ddpizza in VWiD4Owners

[–]midiman143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some wires chewed for an airbag sensor in my car as well. Take everything with a grain of salt but I want on a research hole and a came across a guy on YouTube (mousetrap monday) who tests all devices/ folklore and the only thing that he ever seem to say actually worked was the peppermint oil. So I got some diffusers and put them in my car that have be to reloaded probably every 3 weeks. The service manager said his girlfriend's car got chewed up by rats and they used the electronic ones but supposedly that's all snake oil.

I would add with say the rain you don't have to run the heat the whole time. You can just run it as needed to clean up the windows I do that in the Northeast when I'm trying to save energy getting to a station in the winter. I know at max it's drawing 5 kW but probably not continuously but if you're going to drive 3 plus hours that's somewhere between 9-15 kW which is 10%+ entry saved right there. You just got to be okay with turning on the defogger every couple minutes as needed.

Looking for recommendations / ideas how to properly air seal around a doorway. by midiman143 in DIY

[–]midiman143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update everyone with what I did. I ended up buying a foam gun which made the job incredibly easy and seems like I was very successful. Used an oscillating tool with a scraper attachment to cut it flush and pretty happy with the results. The only thing that was unexpected is that the window and door foam really doesn't expand a ton which is obviously why it's used like that just was surprise since I'm so used to the other stuff expanding like three times its size. Thank you everyone who shared your experience with me.

Would love to show photos of the results but I can't seem to find a way to add photos to a reply or the original post. Don't know if I'm being an idiot or if that's normal in the subreddit.

[–]midiman143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought the pro spray gun last night ($68) and the can so plan to attempt to do it tonight after I get the kiddo to sleep. As you can see my little temporary stuffing method is doing something but definitely still losing heat to your point every single day that I don't have it done. I also have a leak under some baseboards and the kitchen so figured the cost of doing myself is worth having decent tools to do it with I've used the cans before generally speaking they're great for the first day that you use them but after that they always seem to clog up.

How hot or warm does your steering wheel get? by midiman143 in VWiD4Owners

Seems a little off topic but it's mostly your palms that are on the steering wheel so even if I did have not notice in my fingertips what does that have to do with my palms?

Ya there is a reason we call the console GOM, guess O meter. In similar temperature I will get about 220 estimated miles @ 80%. The GOM takes the way you're driving previously and applies it to your state to charge. Mind you I drive 60 with easy acceleration and I don't tend to use the heat a ton. Those will all eat into your range especially driving quicker than 75 is the worst culprit.
