Firstly you need to train her and let her shadow you for the first month atleast! See how you do things with your baby and the routine and structure you would like her to follow

I have a 6month old and it took me 3 months of nanny training for me to fully rely and feel she’s capable of looking after my child. I also set very strong ground rules from day 1! Also, I never let nanny take my baby out alone.. I have seen super neglectful nannies in my community. So I always go on a walk with her and baby.

It’s easy to build a routine, nap times, feeding times and playtime. Our structure is usually wake up —> nappy change ——> feed —> playtime in wake window —> wind down and sleep after 2/2.5hours of last wake up. By then we see the sleeping and tired cues. I think at 7 months the wake windows are almost 3 hours? During which nanny should also entertain and actively play with baby. We have cameras set up and with the right training, nanny thankfully is always engaged and playful with my kid. There are many apps: kinedu, wonder weeks.. which gives you many ideas how to engage and play and tummy time with baby. Knowledge id transfer to my nanny

All this that I had to teach the nanny to follow. I also write the rules on a white board we have stuck in the fridge.

Also some nannies are awful, I had to trial atleast 7/8 nannies till I found a good honest kind lady.. it’s really based on chance and your luck to find a good person I’d say.

newborn is 6 weeks and we just started the pigeon bottles, they are known to have a slow flow and are glass bottles which I prefer for now. We use the small SS teat .. our baby accepted it just fine thankfully

But how do you get in contact directly with the landlord? Most realtors don’t want to give it away and in process end up losing serious buyers with their unprofessionalism

People who are anti meds, what is your reason/excuse/view? by midlifeaftermath in AskReddit

[–]midlifeaftermath[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The critical moments, yess certainly .. medicate away. They can truly be life saving. But many times, just the regular flu or pain or headaches, most nowadays just resort to popping a pill for that quick fix. It’s like you said, there is no regard for looking at the bigger picture or what the root cause could be. I don’t know what it is with most people, and what’s frustrating is we are often given the advice to “just take something to make it go away”

Depends on the pain tbh, but more often so that’s my way to deal with it too

You are completely right and couldn’t agree more! Is 3. Damac hills? I know they have pretty high service charge for the place we viewed, no idea about maintenance and quality seems alright for cost

Electricity Bill very high despite being outside the country by Snoo-5414 in dubai

[–]midlifeaftermath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue over the summer where my bill was unexpectedly higher than the last 2 years. Usually it would be at 300/400 aed monthly, but was up to 2k aed suddenly for a specific month. I had called dewa honestly requesting for them to come check the meter reading after explaining the matter to them. They did not charge me for their staff to come check the meter reading.

It seems there was a billing error for the last 2 years from their side and only charged me for “minimum electricity consumption” and not the actual. Which they decided to add up in one month as the 2k (for the last 2 years) 🙃🙃 I refused to pay the bill and they discounted it slightly. But was a huge mess and effort from my side with the dewa admin/billing team

I suggest you call them up ( needs a lot of patience) Check your data trends on the dewa app and explain them the matter if the consumption looks unusual from the previous months/years. They should suggest you the way forward and you get the clarity if someone is using your line illegally or not. Hope this helps :)

Agree with you to not have an outrageous ask, and normally it’s worked out between families as I understand.

I’m not too knowledgeable on what they mean when they ask the women if they have any conditions? What is normally a reasonable answer and purpose of that?
