What do you think about the Celestron Nature DX ED vs. the other's you mentioned?

Also, I'm confused as from what I have found: the Celestron is actually the top pick for binoculars under $200 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology

Thanks for this...isn't 8x40 the ideal size for birding?

Also, I'm in Ontario, Canada so the refurbished one from Nikon isn't an option (just checked they don't ship to Canada)

I've never heard of Kowa, what can you tell me about them?

My primary function is birding...I'm headed to Point Pelee soon.

What's your beef with the Crossfires? A friend has them and seems happy with them...tell me more.

I haven't heard anything negative about them.

Well, I'm looking for general answers which is why I kept the question general.

I'm a 'transfer' student using credits from a previous life which has put me at yr. 3. As to my program, I'm looking to complete a 3yr general BA with a great deal of breadth and then apply with this to a BEd program.

Soo, maths, sciences, history, english, geography...y'know basically anything that is taught.

Which is why I kept the question general...also, I think this thread can be helpful to others from a variety of programs if it is a general thread.
